Screamo bands with fragile egos.

Recommended Posts

To be fair, I did say their drummer was pretty good. Dude has some good chops.

Also, this band used to be a pop-punk band less than two years ago. Funny how trend-riding works...

Retard much? Trend-riding is what business is all about. You aren't going to sell something that's not "in".

Exactly. We hate bands that are about business instead of music.

I find it funny that these kids are thinking because we're vinyl collectors mean that we all only listen to Aerosmith and AC/DC (nothing against classic rock, just sayin').

I've seen INK play live, it was awesome. Then they came to my house and partied with my friends and I, it was awesome.

How many of you niggers can say you got hot girls to pose in torn-up band merch. half naked?

How many of you have 84 fan pictures?

So now that you've all had your rants of none-sense, let us all go eat out coco and listen to some Aerosmith.

poopsex.

End of story.

Dude do u have to call em niggers? thats a burn being im on ur side and black.

These guys are just making INK popular keep on hating pussies!

Want me to give you a list of Myspace URL's to many other bands who have done just this on many occasions? Ice Nine kills certainly isn't the first band to get some girl to pose half-naked while promoting them, and it's far from being credible or cool.

Bands who clearly are okay with posting sexist photos of women showing off their privates is pathetic and disgusting. Even if the girl did send the photo first or without the band's consent, the band didn't have to post it on their page for all the world to see. Both the band and the person(s) who took said photo are at fault.

does anyone have a link to the actual review this dude posted?

i would honestly expect a lot more professionalism from a magazine such as AP, but i guess im just going to be dissapointed with this paticular one.

1. The band has amazing potential for growth. They used to be more punkish but have gone with a little bit heavier, edgier sound. To lump them in with bands like HH and The Used is to openly admit that you've never listened to any of them. HH in no way shape or form even CLOSELY resmebles the sound of INK. Their guitar is constantly busy, not a shit 4 minute chord progression. The bass keeps right along, the drums are amazing and their new vocalist terrance is spot on with every performance, live or in studio.

2. The band has an incredible stage prescence. So what if they acted like "rockstars" in an arthouse? Who gives a shit, at least they were on stage having fun and doing what they do. Fuck, would you give someone like Dimebag a hard time if he jumped around because thats what he did onstage? fuck that. to ridicule a band because they were into their music and feeling it, and conveying that feeling to their crowd....thats just fuckin pathetic.

They get their crowd into their show, and honestly, they were the best diy band ive ever seen, stage prescence wise.

3. Every single one of them is an honest, hard working individual, and they're all incredibly humble. I partied with them the night of their show here in harker heights, texas and they were some of the coolest guys ive met. who cares if they have tons of friends on myspace, thats not what made their music. you cant blame a band for trying to promote their music through the largest social networking site on the internet. It sounds like a pretty logical way of finding new listeners to me, doesnt it? They don't sit on their account all day, whoring themselves to whoever will listen.

Its sad that you DID listen to 20 seconds of one song before making your assinine assumption, and i would honestly hope for much higher caliber reviews from a magazine as well established as AP. Perhaps if you'd all step outside the petty insults and pathetic steretypes, you might hear something you'd like. I may not like some of the bands you all may like, but i would never knock them for their work ethic, much less their chosen genre.

THis is exactly why i love this band. The Sound is so different for a screamo band!

DAMN RIGHT^^^^^^^

Just because you clearly don't like Screamo, doesn't make this band bad. Ice Nine Kills is an amazing band that keeps me entertained from the first track to the last on all of their albums.

You can't compare one band to other bands, because they ARE NOT other bands. Only listening to 20 seconds of their music is not good enough to be able to write a critique (you ARE getting paid for it, right?) and isn't acceptable, whether you enjoy it or not. Every band has their own unique style, and you're being subjective. A critique should ALWAYS be written objectively, but apparently you don't write well enough to know that.

And, hey, here's a thought for you people that are just talking shit on them: If you don't like it, try writing your own music. Try being an underpaid musician for a day. Try to get on-stage and play/sing your fucking heart out. Try being on the road away from most friends and family for the extent of a tour. None of this is easy. Do it all, then you can talk shit.

It's interesting to see how this goes. I mean, being fairly anonymous I don't really know if those are new users or jokes (as they're both new and humorous). However, if I had to defend every band I liked when a bunch of internet "stupid fuckin idiots" made fun of them I wouldn't have much free time.

It's one of those, "If you don't like them, just don't talk about them"..."Well, if you like them why do you care what other people say?" Situations. Ultimately it's all opinions. As it's a statement of a bands music (not their personal character) it's subjective and open to be interpreted as such. I don't know these people. I've never hung out with Ice Nine Kills, they may be great humans and fantastic people. That I don't know. I have heard their music and I find it boring.

If you can't criticism on the music, regardless of your opinion of the validity of said criticism, do not put your music out there. No band is universally loved. Fans and bands need to understand that.

completely agree on this one. thank you for posting a defence of your opinion that was both well written and mature.

the only thing im upset with is the fact that this paticular reviewer listened to 20 seconds of a single song before writing his review.

for example, i work at a Gamecrazy and constantly have to tell my customers what makes a game great or bad. Most games i play at least several hours into before i form my opinions. If i played a game for 5 minutes then automatically discounted it, i would be doing wrong by my customers.

They play games i hate, and i'll tell them outright "this game is terrible because of the camera, controls, story etc etc." but i do respect their tastes and preferences.

thanks for making the fact that opinions are opinions known.

pretty sure people on this board are in bands WAY more "sucessful" than Nine Ice Kills. And i've done all of this so I will freely talk shit!

i think i am going to have to make a video about this because, all the bullshit that is popular now is what is killing music and is the reason why cd sells are down and stuff, but when something good comes out AP or some other dbag decides that it doesn't sound like the music they love to listen to, back in the 80's or something and hate on it. INK is nothing like HH at all.

There sound is going to make screamo music popualr. Just the way they drums sound and the lyrics and the guitarist is pretty awesome, the singing isnt band and for a screamo band they don't spend a whole half of a song screaming nonsense bs like HH.

For the record, I don't think I did bother to listen to more than 20 seconds ...
NO, you get your shit straight ... he admitted it already ... no taking it back now.

he said he did AT FIRST but then listened in full later on.
