retrospectacle
New kickstarter project to repress Johnny Cash's Sun recordings. Who's down for starting a new Kickstarter project to press for the first time everything that wasn't pressed from 1988 through 2010? http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1188214837/sun-records-and-barnaby-records-release-of-180-gra
catalinacaper
Holy shit, "Johnny Cash's - Johnny Cash With His Hot and Blue Guitar will retail for $50. Jimmy Buffet's - Down to Earth will retail for $80" Are these people fucking crazy?
One Hundred Fifty-Two
Why is one album going to be $85 dollars?
GradedOnACurve
To be fair each release look like its gonna be a 7 LP collection which isn't really that bad. To Kickstarter this is just plain asinine.

If you read the descriptions carefully, it clearly says that they will be retailing the individual Cash albums for $50 and the Buffet ones for $80. Yeah this is a complete waste/cash grab. Plus though who don't read it carefully are gonna get burned.

retrospectacle
Under the "Pledges" Section is says the Johnny Cash 7 LP set will retail over $400!!!!! But if you pledge $275 you can get it for free???? Except you crazy Canadians, you'll have pay $20 shipping! This just smells like a scam. jerseydave77
A perfect example of how a great idea like Kickstarter is quickly bastardized.

retrospectacle
Three of the seven Johnny Cash titles are already being repressed by a label named Doxy (never heard of them) and are up for pre-order on amazon! http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Dpopular&field-keywords=johnny+cash+doxy&x=0&y=

ducksworth
That Jimmy Buffett "Down to Earth" record is pretty hard to find. I think it was out of 500. I have 2 of them. One of them signed by him. He was shocked when I had it signed. Said he hadn't seen one in ages.

lexicondevil
This is simply fucking unbelievable. It really almost seems like a joke. I will donate one dollar for them NOT to repress the Buffet albums.
