Replacing old inner sleeves with new ones

Recommended Posts

About 7 (maybe 8) years ago, I started replacing every single one of my inner sleeves with the poly lined ones because I'm a big stupid doo doo head. It was a pricey ordeal at first. I guess it still kinda is since I pay $25 for a pack of 100.

Where do you buy yours from?

From my local shop. As far as I know, the 12" ones they sell are the Square Deal ones. It's a bitch to order them online since the shipping is so high on supplies.

i use these "rice paper" inner sleeves. i was replacing all of my records with them, but i kind of fell off. i need to get it back together. they're nice because you can see the color of the record and they'e thin so they fit back into the sleeve nicely.

i love the ones that have come with all the Saddle Creek records i have. gotta figure out where those came from.

Assuming you're talking about the pink-tinted ones that are all heavy poly, no paper? Those come standard from RTI (pressing plant that we usually use) when you order 180 gram vinyl. If the LP is pressed on standard weight, you get paper inners.

They offer upgrading to the pink poly ones on standard weight, but there is an upcharge. We haven't done that because even that relatively small cost can bump some releases up a dollar in list price if they're right on the line. Usually if we're doing standard weight for a release, cost is a concern.

I don't know if RTI would sell you the sleeves separately, but I'm guessing you'd have to buy a whole bunch for them to bother.

So i called Record Technology, Inc - They said you have to press with them in order to get the pink Anti-Static Poly sleeve, they don't sell them a la carte. So, sadly i think most of us are out of luck.
