natealcatraz
When you guys have an old record with old inner sleeves, do you keep the old one or replace them with brand new ones? Would it make a difference?
joshnotgood
I only replace if the old sleeve is badly ripped.
sharkticon
I would love to replace the inners in my entire collection with nice poly-lined sleeves. But that will be expensive as all hell. Anyone know of a good bulk price on those?
overture
Replaced 200 blank white inner sleeves today with polylined sleeves. Good times I order mine from Nuclear Blast, 100 pieces was 23.99 euros. Shipping was 16 euros, lol.
natealcatraz
Cool thanks guys. I was just wondering what everyone does with their old sleeves because I was going through my dad's old records and he had a ton of sleeves that look like they've seen better days. Maybe these would do? http://www.amazon.com/Plastic-Innersleev....6289339&sr=8 -
clagstein
I swap out every new record I get in with a polylined sleeve, and swap out other ones as I listen to stuff in my collection. It is an expensive practice, but it is what's best for my collection!
nothingnatural
About 7 (maybe 8) years ago, I started replacing every single one of my inner sleeves with the poly lined ones because I'm a big stupid doo doo head. It was a pricey ordeal at first. I guess it still kinda is since I pay $25 for a pack of 100.
slinch
I feel a strong urge to replace all the printed inner sleeves with regular ones. Printed ones create insane amounts of static.

As far as I know, the 12" ones they sell are the Square Deal ones. It's a bitch to order them online since the shipping is so high on supplies. http://www.squaredealonline.com/sp.asp?s=7q
moonbeams
I use poly sleeves for all of my records. if not, they become magnets for anything floating in the air.
GradedOnACurve
I replace most of my LP's with the poly inners. Costs $2 for a pack of 10, so about $20 for every 100. I buy em from Academy Records in Brooklyn.

hipsterasfolk
I hate the smell of that coffe stain yellow inner sleeve. I always pack hand sanitizer when I deal with older record browsing.
suchashorttime
http://www.bagsunlimited.com/p-4332-12-inner-record-sleeve.aspx i use these "rice paper" inner sleeves. i was replacing all of my records with them, but i kind of fell off. i need to get it back together. they're nice because you can see the color of the record and they'e thin so they fit back into the sleeve nicely. petgrief
i love the ones that have come with all the Saddle Creek records i have. gotta figure out where those came from. Assuming you're talking about the pink-tinted ones that are all heavy poly, no paper? Those come standard from RTI (pressing plant that we usually use) when you order 180 gram vinyl. If the LP is pressed on standard weight, you get paper inners. They offer upgrading to the pink poly ones on standard weight, but there is an upcharge. We haven't done that because even that relatively small cost can bump some releases up a dollar in list price if they're right on the line. Usually if we're doing standard weight for a release, cost is a concern. I don't know if RTI would sell you the sleeves separately, but I'm guessing you'd have to buy a whole bunch for them to bother. http://www.recordtech.com/

So, sadly i think most of us are out of luck.
