thebiglebowski
I've got some bare walls in my house. Any suggestions on how to go about getting some cool looking original art? I know it's not gonna be $20, but not looking at much more than a couple hundred. Any good scores you have found?
Thrice55
Check into a website called OMGposters.com They have great stuff there, but don't tell anyone else. It's already hard as is to get a print when they go on sale
jpearin
You should get Dan from Artistic Integrity Records to paint you something. He did a few really cool Jawbreaker-related pieces for a friend of mine. I think there's a way to contact him at AIR's site - www.artisticintegrityrecords.com danthemjfan23
icecream
also check etsy and research expressobeans.com
thebiglebowski
Thanks guys. I will look into these more thoroughly tomorrow. Not sure exactly what I am looking for but at first glance etsy seems to be my best bet. I guess there is no rational reason for this but I think it is cooler to hang something abstract an art student did than a numbered screenprint of a band. Just have to sort through for something cool but affordable (not a picture of a bowl with fruit in it).
Guest
this might just be me still being fresh out of college but I got a lot of stuff from friends in the art program. we had shows at coffee shops and did art walks around town a lot. you can find some pretty cool stuff that is also usually reasonably priced. hipsterasfolk
Speaking of art, I would love it if PTM released some of their covers/prints in a fashion like Bannon

thebiglebowski
Forced to choose one I guess I would say abstract but if it looks cool, I'll hang it.
maneatingcow
While I've never really thought about doing something like this I have been looking to get some art to fill my walls. If any of you are sending the OP pictures of samples of art of yours or friends send a copy my way too. I'm probably in the same boat as him price wise too, so nothing to crazy price wise. Here's a couple copies of stuff from etsy I like. Things that really strike me are a little romantic, or more abstract images typically with more muted tones with small splashes of bold color. Browns or greys with splashes of pinks or other bold choices. It's tough to describe but I know what I like when I see it. http://www.etsy.com/...search_type=all (I love the poetry in the art love when art combines) http://www.etsy.com/...h_type=handmade (Really love this, simple but striking) http://www.etsy.com/...h_type=handmade http://www.etsy.com/...knife-landscape (This is out of my price range but really dig it) http://www.etsy.com/...h_type=handmade

streetwaves
I know that you said that you wanted original art but here are some prints, non band related, that may interest you. I have bought original art over the years and always wish I had a larger budget. http://store.thefontanastudios.com http://jonathanlevinegallery.com/cfwebstore/index.cfm?category=
amnstypls
i say just get as much bannon art as you can. his stuff trumps all these oil paintings.
mclz
Have prints, but the only original art I have are some Tim Armstrong paintings I bought from Machete MFG 5 or 6 years ago.
maneatingcow
i say just get as much bannon art as you can. his stuff trumps all these oil paintings. It may be blasphemy on this site but I am not a fan of Bannons art. At least not enough to put it on a wall. controlthebleeding
i don't find bannon's art all that great either. but if you're gonna get art, get this:

xjustinxschwierx
look up Lauren Dinitzio's site www.blackandredeye.com I own a lot of comic book page art, and have finally started framing posters I've been collecting over the past 15 or so years...so there's that option as well.
