Haha, probably not. Just the label sales on Black Friday hit my bank account really hard.

I had to pass on some stuff on RSD like the Cake boxset because I didn't save enough. I work retail so I'm going to have to sweet talk my GM into letting me work the closing shift instead of the midnight shift on Black Friday.

I did a really good job not spending too much this RSD.  It took a few years, but now I know what I'll actually listen to regularly and not just have sitting on a shelf.  Either way, it never hurts to have a bunch saved up just in case.

That's reasonable, and I would guess you're probably right as far as the actual situation here.

I've been in that boat though, where someone was really into me, I wasn't into them and I told them how I felt and things still happened. Granted, I didn't go out in public talking about "hitting that" but maybe he thought no one could overhear them? Kids are stupid.

I get the whole, this generation is going down the tubes because such and such reason (promiscuity, drugs, etc.).

I think people thought the same things in the 60's though, and now those same people who were doing all this shit in the 60's get all riled up about it nowadays.

I do wish people would grow up and realize no one cares whether they're "getting it" on the reg though, and stop talking about it in public. That's more the part I find to be most gross.

That and that kids these days just really don't seem to realize that sex isn't a relationship, and it's not something to go into lightly.

(I'm also glad you'd be angry about it either way.)

Don't even get me started on this generation that is incapable of caring about anyone but themselves. It is so rare to see lasting relationships because, like this guy, people run at the first sign of conflict. Instead of working through things people just cut and run. In this society of instant gratification, people always think they can find something better. (I am not saying this applies to everyone, but I will say that it does apply greatly to our generation.)

It is kind of like how we were talking about Don Jon last night. That movie nailed it on the head (pun intended.) Not only porn, but chick flicks and romance novels have distorted everyone's idea of what love / lust entail and what we deserve as gratification. It is pretty sick stuff. Like this whole Shades of Grey shit? Exactly. Enough said.

Anyway. Sorry about this long rant that possibly doesn't even make sense. I just get riled up about this stuff.

He definitely didn't say anything to her about backing off, since the friend commented about how she hit him up on Facebook asking why the other dude was ignoring her.

Getting real in depth with this, haha. It was very interesting to listen to. Whenever I'm around kids that age, I just feel like an alien. I cannot connect with or relate to that age group at all, and I'm only 25.

I heard a similar conversation the other day on the bus. And they always make me angry. The dude I was listening to was talking about how he had laid 3 different girls in the past week and a half. He was explicitly explaining it to his dude friend, they were laughing and joking about it and it was absolutely sickening. I actually told him, "You do realize you are talking loud enough for the whole bus to hear how big of an asshole you are right?" and then got off the bus. Total dick.

That was exactly my rationale haha.

Edit: Don't get me start on Fifty Shades. It's straight up mommy porn. Not to mention it's horrendously written. I have a a huge problem with juvenile drivel masquerading as literature.

Literally, very little has changed from when I was a teenager.

Other than the internet turning everyone into self-important, entitled, pseudo-wannabe celebrities.

I agree with you but technology has added another layer.

it completely has...

But at the same time, there are multiple examples in this thread of speech and thought that were occurring then and probably way before if the stories of older relatives are to be believed as well as movies from before I was a sperm swimming in my daddy's balls.

Doesn't matter really that the mindset of young men and women are the same really.  Being ungrateful is a very unbecoming trait.

I don't think anyone here is really speaking as to what kind of relationship Eric has with his parents per se, meaning that we all think it's perfect when it very well could not be.  But to say "parents are stupid" indicates to me that he's not properly and fairly assessing his situation.  Or that's he's being just another internet* troll. As if it's still a clever thing to do.

You don't think the prevalence of pornography has degraded culture and now it is the easiest thing in the world to get a hold of? That's the internet for you.

Guys had nudie mags in their lockers and they had playboy and spice channel and 8th generation vhs tapes...

pornography is not new and neither is it only recently everywhere

My sister threw me an ice cream sandwich and I did a George Michael and turned my body instead of catching it lol

In response to the technology discussion, sometimes I feel suffocated. I like silence sometimes and if I don't respond to a text right away then I get a Facebook message or an DM on Instagram. I can't get a day to just relax.

For instance, You don't think the threat of a toddler coming across it on their parents mobile device while playing a touch screen children's game is a negative thing?
