Daycare can level up your magikarp to a level where it could evolve but won't unless it levels up in combat. A pokemon cannot evolve in daycare. Also, it's stats will be severely stunted if left to level in daycare, leaving you with a weak ass garydos...and no one wants that. You just have to have Magikarp be the first Pokemon you throw out by default. Then you switch to a more powerful Pokemon and Magikarp gets those sweet sweet exp points. MHTJ did have Greg, Chris, and Steve from TWIABP though. I DID buy an upside down cross MHTJ back patch from BWM.
