  1. I'm going to be in Austin in a few weeks and plan on hitting some record stores. So far End of an Ear is the only one on my list and I'd appreciate any recommendations. I'm looking for a shop with a good selection of metal, a decent inside selection (not just Merge, 4AD, Sub Pop), a place that seems to always have a lot of worthwhile used stuff (think things that came out within the last 20-25 years) or even just a rad shop that's worth checking out even if I might not find anything. I'll be saying in south central Austin, but I know I'll be spending time downtown and on the eastside as well. My brother will be chaffering me around, I won't mind making him drive me to a store that's a little further away either! Thanks in advance!
  2. "Fuck Those Who Steal From Bands" Poster Sale On September 27, someone stole the touring van and all of the gear belonging to our guys Child Bite. Child Bite is the longest running band on our label -- our first release with Child Bite was JNR15 back in 2007. Needless to say, we've been friends for a very long time, and we were very saddened to hear that some asshole stole all of the band's equipment. To help our buddies, we're arranging a fundraiser to replace some of what was stolen. You may not be aware that Shawn Knight from Child Bite is an extremely talented artist, and we are selling some of his best limited edition screen-printed posters from bands like Melvins, Kishi Bashi, Thee Oh Sees, etc. Posters are signed by Shawn Knight, hand-numbered, and we have fewer than 25 of each on hand. All items are "Pay What You Want". Please donate generously. Thanks in advance for helping out an amazing band in a tough spot. http://www.joyfulnoiserecordings.com/fuck-those-who-steal-from-bands-child-bite-fundraiser/ I dig the Coliseum poster a ton, I'll grab that when I get paid I think. Edit : Also, I think this is a perfect example of how a band should raise money after a crisis.
  3. Just discovered I'm going to be in town for the first 4 days of Austin Beer Week! Looks like a lot of cask beer related events, should be a blast!
  4. and price. I don't think anyone determined that there was anything different between the two besides color.
  5. Is that the 2012 pressing of Archers Of Loaf - White Trash Heroes?
  6. It's fairly easy to find up here. It's usually what I drink when I'm out and either a) broke or plan on being out for more than a couple hours.
  7. Loved This is a Hospital, but I couldn't quite get into this one. Going to order both and give this one another shot.
  8. You could try something like this : http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/80211923/ I'm with the previous posters regarding weight too.
  9. Wolves In The Throne Room‘s 2011 BBC Radio 1 Session will be released on vinyl this fall through Southern Lord Records. The two song in-studio performance (““Prayer Of Transformation” and “Thuja Magus Imperium“) will be issued by Southern Lord on November 26th and will be titled “BBC Session 2011 Anno Domini“. BBC Session 2011 Anno Domini Track Listing: 1 Prayer of Transformation 2 Thuja Magus Imperium http://www.earsplitcompound.com/site/2013/10/09/wolves-in-the-throne-room-southern-lord-confirms-bbc-session-2011-anno-domini/
  10. I think Frank's made me laugh the most and I liked Charlie's quite a bit too. The others didn't do anything for me.
  11. It cracks me up that he's still around. I like his character, but it's pretty ridiculous that he's still in the show.
  12. Hamm's is easily my favorite American adjunct lager. The best cheap-o beer if you ask me (although I do have a soft spot for Miller High Life and Rainier as well).
  13. I'm guessing this'll pop up on Amazon eventually too. I'll get it from there or Ghostly. Stoked this is getting pressed, hopefully Sunrise Projector is in the pipeline too.
  14. 10$ for 35 minutes and a gatefold is hard to argue with. Hopefully the poo colored vinyl lasts until I get paid!
  15. That's an excellent point. I hope Nero sticks around for a while longer, he's one of the characters I enjoy quite a bit. Unfortunately, I think you're right on him not being long for this world.
  16. 13/20, I'll take it. I've been to Ikea twice (mine is too damn far away) and I don't listen to much foreign black metal.
  17. Entrench is killer, pretty much everything KEN Mode has put out is though.
  18. I don't really care at this point either. The show is holding my attention just fine without her.
  19. i feel that way more and more about this show. It seems like they throw that in there just to have it. I can understand when a shocking scene makes sense within the confines of the story (Gemma's rape from season 2 comes to mind), but that scene was there just for shock value and nothing else. The scene last season with Walton Goggins as the cross dressing stripper (or whatever he was, I can't remember) is another example of shocking just to be shocking.
  20. Yeah, I still don't know how I keep overlooking it. The Mylene Sheath represses of the other albums are on my turntable pretty regularly, so it's not like the band strays from my mind too much. I'll give it a listen when I get to work in a few days and most likely order it shortly after.
  21. I've been digging this season quite a bit, episodes 4 and 5 were both really strong. I always forget how much I like this show until a new season starts.
  22. Ah damn, I still haven't listened to Waking Season! The more Caspian the better, no matter how behind I am on it!
  23. I wasn't planning on ordering this since I have an original pressing, but the remaster and extra tracks changed that.
