Charles Barkley
I love me some MMJ. Though I already own the album, I might end up purchasing for the bonus tracks and demos Speaking of which, if anyone is selling their bonus seven inch from The Waterfall, please let me know! YouTwo
I'm excited to hear the updated mixes of the songs. Jim James said it will remove "the wet blanket that was lying on top of the speakers." Here's an article from Stereogum where he talks about how they weren't happy with the mixes. http://www.stereogum.com/1869139/my-morning-jacket-announce-it-still-moves-deluxe-reissue/news/
YouTwo
Looks like 2 songs are already out there. I'm at work so I can't comment on how much better or worse than sound than the originals.
simple_torture
Very cool; will wait for the price to drop on the LPs. MMJ has always had great quality releases--my Okonokos is one of the jewels of my collection.

aopps42
I love this album, one of my all-time favorites, but $54 is a no go for me. Cool. Hope they reissue Okonokos some day Same here, the top of my wantlist, but I can't bring myself to drop that kind of scratch on a record. firefoxUSSR
I like MMJ but with this sort of transparency on mixing/mastering, I think I love MMJ!

YouTwo
Has anyone listened to this yet? I couldn't bring myself to bite on the $50 to buy this album again so I just ended up buying the CD (gasp!) just to hear what the new mixes sound like. It's definitely a lot more dynamic and background instruments pop out that I never knew were there.
Charles Barkley
I haven't gotten around to listening to mine yet, but the packaging is top notch!

It's definitely a lot more dynamic and background instruments pop out that I never knew were there. It's definitely a lot cleaner sounding. Not sure I like it. Seems to have removed that dirty southern feel that appealed so much. Some decent conversation about it on hoffman too
YouTwo
I was worried about it losing some of the grittiness, which is one of the things I really love about this album. While, it did lose a little bit of grit, I'm stilled satisfied with how the remasters came out.
YouTwo
I finally got to listen to all of the demos today. Some are definitely more listenable than others. Does anyone else find the hissing a charming part of the demo or a little bit of an annoyance? DC1221
DC1221
Love the hiss. Reminds me of the early Iron & Wine demos (and first album, for that matter)
Stravinsky
I think this turned out fabulous! Love the new mix.
