freedumb
Awesome ground-breaking album. I believe this is a boot though, fyi. Got one about 6 months ago or so. Actually very good quality, pressing-wise. Bladewillisisdead

This version is being released on a label called 1972 seems legit

fitterhappier
holy shit! This has been on my want list for the longest time. I hope they can put all the tracks in this pressing (I believe the first pressings had to cut couple of tracks)
musig
Wow great news! I might wait until there's a little bit more information before putting in an order. Hopefully it isn't limited.

While 1972 does not get the hate that "Plain Recordings" gets, they did re-issue a bunch of Stereolab releases without the band's involvement, straight from the CDs. mameeshkamowskwoz
Shit yeah. I've Torture Garden for years and would love to own this... a bit weary of the bad rep for the label though.

I'm waiting to see what people think of it I was considering picking this up BUT, 2 things: 1. My boot from a year or so ago actually sounds flawless. I'd try to hunt this one down for anyone looking. 2. Read up on discogs about this "label" and new pressing - sounds like all their pressings are really shitty garbage and they don't give profits to bands. A few people flat out called them bootleggers on there... so I'm not sure if this is actually a 2nd, inferior bootleg pressing or what, but it doesn't sound too promising. Not much of a draw here unless the packaging is something special.
cardiac
I remember trying to get the details on 1972 when they dropped those Stereolab & Aphex Twin 'reissues' and coming up with nothing. Given the high profile titles and the listings on Amazon etc I assumed they were legit at first, but yeah - sketch. I'd love to know who runs it.. NapalmBrain
Bummer 1972 is handling this otherwise I'd be down
SeanPuffy
I got it, it sounds decent enough. The record looks awful though, some nasty looking gashes and dirty. Surprisingly it plays fine considering. docbronze
