Bazan went on tour with Ben Gibbard & Johnathan Rice in the mid-00s, and I guess John Krasinski is friends with Gibbard, so he joined them for a leg of the tour.

It wasn't released on a 7", but there's also this version, from the 2004 compilation Maybe This Christmas Tree. It's one of my favorite Bazan recordings.
I'm guessing the version included will probably be the 2010 version, what with the revised lyrics to account for his agnosticism.

Feel the same way.  I didn't realize I liked the more "rocking" version of Okkervil River, until I got an album with no rockers on it.  The slow songs are fine when they are being mixed in with the more uptempo stuff (Stage Names, Stand-Ins, even Silver Gymnasium), but I put this on the other day when I was doing something around the house and nothing ever really drew me in.
