numanoid reacted to troymess in PO: Failure - 1992-1996 5LP Box Set
The download I received had both FLAC and MP3, however the FLAC were released as 44.1 kHz, 16 bit files. They sound incredible, but I do wish he released them as 48 kHz, 24 bit files. They're worth it though considering the huge improvement made for Comfort and Magnified.

They recently made the albums available for digital-only purchase:

I still have yet to see APTBS live, and they played within 1 hr of me last year. They seem to be constantly on tour, must write on the road.
RD said they have 3 or 4 new songs playing live now and looking to add a few more before releasing something this year. It's going to be hard to top Pure Mood, but they do seem to manage to keep the bar with each release. Love everything they've done. I haven't gotten into APTBS last 2 albums as much as the first 2.
@mrewest has seen the light

The way I justified that this is that shipping should have been about 25 bucks
So I paid 30 dollars each for a AAA well pressed record in a gatefold sleeve that an OG this clean would could me well above both of these shipped

Less psych, more darkwave or new wave. Pretty good. Let's see if the rest of the album follows suit.

numanoid got a reaction from vinyl addict in Marilyn Manson - Heaven Upside Down
The lamination on the art prints for The Pale Emperor has very badle bubbled and flaked off. It's not just my copy, someone else on the Hoffman forums posted a picture of theirs and the same thing happened. As I'm sure most people haven't looked at their prints since they received the record two years ago, have a look. It sucks.

@Plarocks
20+ years ago, I went to see them with a Californian who insisted they were more popular in the USA than at home, so there might be someone else here who's interested.
All four albums are getting reissued. The first three are up on Amazon UK for £8.99. They are listed at OLI as nearly double that.
Love Is Hell
The Death Of Cool
Strange Free World
One Little Indian
Cowboys And Aliens (at OLI, not Amazon)

Same thing happened to me on the Pledge campaign I hit them up and they sent me a new one (even let me keep the other one) I'm sure there's an email in your confirmation order you can hit up.

With Sympathy is hands down the best American synth pop album.

I was at the right age for those excellent CD reissues in the early 2000s. I think they're a cut above a lot of their peers, tbh. More witty, able to incorporate folk influences as easily as The Mekons (but in a uniquely British way)... A clear influence for the punkier proponents of the American neofolk movement at the time of the reissues like Jeffrey Lewis.

If they really wanted to help small shops, they would have a decent return policy for unsold stock. Also they would reconsider a lot of the bullshit. And yes, I know it's all subjective, but there's no one on earth clamoring for a Toto Africa picture disc pressed to the order of 3500. For every one of these, there is a Loveless that goes unpressed.
The first four RSD were fun, lots of limited releases, good reissues, indie label stuff... fun standing in line for them. By the time the majors got involved, stupid picture discs, overpriced side-by-side gimmicks at $9 a piece, absolutely unnecessary dollar bin reissues... it's a joke now. And like the local store owner told me, he doesn't see most of those people the other 364 days out of the year.
