Hey, that's the guy that was first in line this year when I went to RSD!

Leave them all behind as a gift. Repurchase new copies of everything once you're settled in to your new pad two blocks away.

    Easy peasy.

That's misinterpreting it. Letting go of a record because you think it can be easily replaced, then having its value skyrocket, is way different than regretting the amount it could be sold for now.
Taking the pretentious position that musical value inherently outweighs any monetary value is foolish at best. I would sell my entire collection right now if my family needed it for financial reasons. It doesn't mean there is no musical value.

I think the logical next step for Third Man is to release a record with a built in arm/needle that plays itself.

Where else can you go from here?

If these had come out on April 19th, people would still have TTL on auto-reload looking for restocks.

They come out two weeks later and suddenly it's lame to like bands from the 90s...

    ?!

You need two in case you mistakenly store one in an 85 degree room.

Let me also give an example of knowing your audience.

I love The Bangles. No intention of irony. Grew up on them and know all the words to Eternal Flame. If reissues of their albums were being made do you think I'd be naive enough to post a PO thread? Hell no. Two members might care and that's likely an overestimate. Further they'd probably be $25 and then the other person would drop out.

Just because something is being released or re-released doesn't mean it warrants attention on this board. It certainly doesn't mean it warrants only positive attention.

I disagree with that.  Thanks to this board, I've discovered and expanded my musical tastes more than I ever would have had I been on just a band specific messageboard.  This forum is vinylcollective and I don't think it really slants one way (metal vs. punk vs. pop) over another. i'd like to think it is all encompassing and welcoming to any and all music tastes.

With regards to Blues Traveler, it's not like they are making 40000 copies.  1 release was a promo only domestic release, 2 of the releases haven't even been on vinyl before (per Discogs), with another being only available overseas.  I am sure there are more than 1000 people who see Blues Traveler at shows that might pick this up for nostalgia sake (maybe a couple met at a HORDE show...who knows).  I don't think this is milking fans or anything, it is giving legacy Blues Travelers fans to add to their vinyl collection and a chance for those who may want to discover their music an opportunity to do so.

Am I the only one who thinks - generally speaking - UK shops and labels ship their stuff in the absolute worst way possible? I think Europe is bad in general, but the UK takes the cake - they're the only ones who constantly use those awful thin brown mailers for singles and LPs, sometimes without even a piece of cardboard inside for support.

And even when they do use cardboard mailers or fillers, it seems like it's a kind unique to that island which almost collapses upon itself like an accordion with barely a touch. I swear I've left one of those sitting empty on a counter after getting something mailed to me and within a week it had disintegrated under its own weight.

When I order from over there, I pretty much bite my lip and set the expectation that corners will be dinged to hell, at least one seam will be split and at least a few creases will be present on the sleeve. I just keep my fingers crossed the vinyl doesn't get warped - or worse, broken.

I think what bugs me the most is the hidden tracks under the labels - soooooo no one will ever hear them, that's super cool. The 3 different speeds is a close 2nd.

Guess I'm the only one who thinks this is so so annoying and dumb. I'm pretty sick of all the 3rd man gimmicky bullshit. It's a shame cause I actually like his music.

I mean I knew going in that the sound isn't the best on picture discs.... but this is ridiculous. I played it for some family last night and they were just as appalled as me. The constant cracking/popping that's louder than the music itself... there's no excuse for that.

All due respect, I got the email and calling Half Japanese one of the most important bands in the history of rock is just silly. Why not say they are more important than the Beatles? If you're going to do it, do it all the way!

I don't know, I feel like I've heard equally or more far fetched claims about lesser bands.

    I guess it's all opinion...
