  1. I think what he meant was that watching SNL was awful.
  2. Got my clear with gold flakes on Friday. Saddle Creek knows how to package their stuff. Came with two posters, a sticker, a tattoo, a patch, a clear flexi disc, and a handwritten note.
  3. I doubt many on this board would disagree with you here. That wasn't the point though. The question is about how certain genre labeling is very limiting. Emo typically puts a band in a very narrow box. Rock and pop do not.
  4. But "emo" has much more specific stereotypes associated with it than pop or rock. If you say your favorite genre of music is emo, then people will label you as a weird, depressed freak. If you say your favorite music is pop or rock, people will think you're normal.
  5. I could see how someone would say this. I assume the vocals are what really drive you nuts. I'm still surprised they've become mainstream. No idea how that happened. However, I really like them.
  6. The album is really good, but I still can't bring myself to order it until someone confirms the vinyl doesn't sound like crap.
  7. Started collecting CDs in 1989. Had over 1000 in 2008 when I decided to switch completely to vinyl. Now I have about 300 CDs and 600-700 records.
  8. False analogy. Should be... Most people consider food "uneaten" if you just open the package to see what it looks like.
  9. Two grand for handwritten lyrics to Glycerine. Dumbest thing ever.
  10. I recently upgraded to a new receiver that has a built in preamp, so I have a very lightly used ART DJPRE II Preamp for sale. I bought it in March 2014 when I upgraded to a new turntable. I play one record a day on average, so this thing hasn't seen too much use. Looks as good as new. I'll include an RCA cable with it if you want. I'm thinking $35 PPD, but PM any reasonable offer. 11. Got my blue yesterday. Sounds great. This is a killer album. Right on par with Gax5. The glow in the dark cover is a bit lame.
  12. Meh, RSD has just become about flipping records for a quick buck.
  13. Where the hell do you live? 5-6 record shops within one minute of your house? No way they could all stay in business.
  14. I honestly try to stay away from local record stores because then I end up buying stuff I only kind of want instead of records I really want. Plus, I don't have time to go. If I drove to the record store every time I wanted a new record then I would have no time to listen to them.
  15. That's true, but Pink Floyd stuff has gotten a lot more expensive lately. A used record shop I go to frequently used to have tons of Floyd records for $5-$10 each. Now they want at least $20 for anything with Floyd on it. You have some good stuff on your list, but stuff like Hotel California, Boston, Aja, and Thriller can almost always be found in the $1 bin.
  16. What the hell? They just sent another email saying it was on backorder and they had no idea when they were going to get it. I guess I will order from somewhere else.
  17. Has anyone gotten one of these from Soundstage Direct? My order was delayed again. Screw them.
  18. Agreed. 9 times out of 10, I think new vinyl albums sound great. This is not one of those 9.
  19. Discounted gift cards? That's a very odd promotion. Wouldn't it be funny though if you couldn't use a discount code with a gift card that was purchased with a discount code? That would take some fairly advanced coding, but it could be done.
