Ordered the Fireside reissue and the Vanishing Life single.

I know nothing except I've unfortunately rarely heard a picture disc that had decent AQ in any shape or form. This definitely needs a new press along with louder than love and badmotorfinger.

It's hilarious people talking about Pantera record pressing quality. "Not really enough warmth in the click-y drums and mechanical sounding guitars for my liking". Goofiest sounding band in all the land.

Agree with you there man, DTD is easily my favourite.
I felt like Howard Jones became a bit of a parody of himself as the albums went on, don't get me wrong he's a good vocalist, but I felt like they were playing up his voice a bit more (kind of how James Hetfield's vocals are just a bit of a joke now). Jesse is much more raw.
I'd honestly written KSE off after As Daylight Dies, but with DTD they seemed to turn a corner and really reinvent themselves.

I'm totally buying this, so I guess I'm the only one who's happy about it... I guess that means I'm no rush to order though!!
Might as well wait for it to show up in the clearance bins.

I order records from the hot topic website all the time and its never taken more than 5 days for records to get to the store. I ordered these day of release and see a 'shipped' on 2/10/2015 status, but then see a 'shipping info sent to Fed Ex' message right after and its been that way since the 10th. starting to freak just a bit. Just a bit.

Preorder for a June 16th release is up on Amazon. A bit pricey but this is the limited edition import.

KRM sent a black vinyl replacement for my insanely surface noised shitty brown version. The black vinyl sounds amazing. No surface noise whatsoever.

Got this in today, its on silver...listened and it sounds killer...I had the volume all the way up on my stereo and I jumped when he screams at the beginning of burned beyond recognition and then turned it up louder
 
The perfect record to jam to after a shitty fucking day...

I'm over the different color thing. I ordered cola, got 'shit' as everyones calling it instead. I was just happy to finally own it because it's so damn good, BUT my side 2 is ridiculously bad as far as surface noise, hisses and pops goes.
 
  I thought maybe it just needed a good cleaning, so that's what I did. I even played it on my other Turntable after cleaning it thinking maybe the needle was going bad on the first one.  I've seen other people complaining about the same issue, just wondering if it runs the different variants or is it just the 'shit' color?

Just received mine and it's chocolate milk brown when definitely I ordered cola. Pretty much BS. Anyone contact Kings road yet and get a reply?
 
UPDATE. Never mind I just called and was told "all we got was cola and black, maybe yours was when they were changing the color over"..... I'll call epitaph now not that that will make any difference.

The HT near me had 3 copies earlier when I went to pick up another order. I was a really big fan of the first 3 MCR records but kind of dismissed this without ever listening to it. Listened to it today after I got home. I'll be back at HT first thing in the morning to pick it up.

180g black sounds flawless. No surface noise, no crackles, no pops, nothing. I'm listening to my records with headphones 90% of the time, so I'm very conscious about every kind of flaw that might come up while listening to vinyl. This pressing is one of the most perfect in my collection.

Received my copy today as did my buddy. Very impressed with the sound quality. And for what it's worth, my buddy who has an original press did a side by side comparison while I was over today and the new MOV repress is light years better as far as AQ goes. The original was extremely fuzzy, hissy and poppy. Lots of surface noise as opposed the the reissue which is nice and smooth.
Wondering if anyone has both and has done a side by side? Interested if anyone else gets the same result. So happy to finally own this classic recording.
