I have had a hell of a time locating a copy and finally found one on eBay from Canada and ordered it straight away! I wonder if there will ever be a repress...

yo I'm not trying to be any kind of way here and I rarely post but wanted to share. I have recently heard the Loser LP in full... all I can say is everyone is in for a treat that is well worth 17 years of waiting.
 
The record is Gospel at their most aggressive, discordant and captivating. The label talk of it being a 'masterpiece' is 100% on point. All 8 songs are barnburners and rest assured: they are all Gospel through and through.
 
I love this band and am so thrilled that they are still doing their own thing with reckless abandon or care for our expectations. I am truly blown away and excited for you to hear it too. 
 

A few notable death metal releases:
 
Dark Descent and MSUO released a new batch yesterday (and MSUO still has the colored variants at https://www.mesacounojo.com/, DD sold out pretty quickly). New Chaotian and Ataraxy full lengths plus the Druid Lord/ Anatomia split. All top shelf DM releases, mandatory stuff. DD also started preorders for the new Desolate Shrine, another great band.
 
Also Night Shroud and Extremely Rotten (David from Undergang's label/store) just finally released the Tetralogy of Death comp featuring Deiquisitor, Taphos, Phrenelith and Undergang. Night Shroud still has the gray marble.

New Artificial Brain finally up for preorder from PL! This is very likely going to be one of my favorite releases of the year, I still listen to the last two all the time and catch these guys live every chance I get (most recently  with Mike from Inter Arma filling in on vocals). Super excited about this one.

For now, no information or anything just a new killer Gospel tune called SRO from an upcoming 11 song LP called “The Loser”.
 
Love this band and if this tune is any indication they still have the magic 15 years later.

Personally, I love it. I think if you're surprised that this leans into prog this much then you may want to peep Tango and Dark Matter if you haven't heard those. I'm pretty sure they are just demos but they were always headed in that prog direction after The Moon is a Dead World. To be fair, even that whole LP had some serious prog leanings, too. 
 
But for me, I think the gospel 'sound' is still there after 16 years. Strange and screamy vocals, synth odysseys,  12 string guitar licks, Vinny's unfucking real drumming and this weird mood that underscores the whole thing. This has been my most anticipated release in forever and the fact that it is happening is blowing my mind. 
 
I was thinking while walking around the block today that no one sounds like this band at all - it's such an amazing combo and after hearing the first tune I'm 100% confident that this LP (2xLP?) is going to be a barnburner.

The deluxe version in my opinion is 100% worth it! I really like this album - I mean the music itself is great if you like bh but the packaging for the gold deluxe is killer for 50 dollars. You get a big 'box set' style box with a couple big posters, a huge 'lyric' book with some cool pics and the records themselves are that nice soupy gold that actually looks good... and clear. It feels like a substantial total package fitting a solid album in my perspective and while you can get the normal 2xlp for 30 shipped - this deluxe is special. Everything feels like it was done with care from the gold foil stamping to the holographic inners its just a really nice package. I've seen records like this go for way more but at the end of the day it will appeal to you if you want the extras and are cool shelling out $20 extra dollars. 
 
Just my opinion but it feels like they put effort into it and I think the price is fair.

Some AK3 news that may be of interest: I saw them with Bad Religion the other day in Philly and got to talk to Derek and Dan out behind the venue for a little bit. Derek told me a Good Mourning vinyl reissue is in the works for the 20th anniversary next year.
He said they were thinking of doing it as a double 10" or maybe even an expanded version with the demos and stuff. Said he wanted it to be a deluxe thing. I asked him to lobby for the inclusion of that leaked "Angel Alcohol" / "Everywhere I Wanna Go" demo, and he said he'd try. He also told me the actual title of that song was "So Good To Be Here".
Just some info I thought people here may appreciate.

Anyone getting distortion? Radiohead came to my school, back then I used to like milk warmed up on the radiator, but my friend became lactose intolerant and we always thought he lacked toast and was being tolerant of that. He  went on to become a famous drag queen and my record sounds scratchy towards the end of one track because I have a shonky 1940s tuba attached to a diamond my ex girlfriend gave to me when she ran off with Marc Bolan.
