I grabbed the new Pianos Become the Teeth (which is probably not good) for like $10 shipped. This compromised my "never give UO any money" morals, but I at least I avoided Amazon on Prime day because I'm not a scab.

My problem is I want this in a $10-15 impulse buy from the Amazon deals thread kinda way. I like a lot of the songs and I'd love to have it on vinyl, but it's just not something I need for fifty fucking bucks. I just grabbed Sunn 0))) White 1&2 for $50 combined...and I'm pretty sure those are both 2xLPs

I'm really stoked for it. Super jealous I didn't get to meet Murray though. A little sad I've never run into Jarmusch down there (I'm a little further upstate) but I know a bunch of people who have. None of them have approached him....because yeah, I wouldn't approach Jim Jarmusch.

My tour guide was a giant dude who used to be a bouncer at hardcore/metal shows. So I would have been confident of my survival odds...assuming I wasn't the first to die.

I really disliked Calibre. Just didn't do anything for me. Doesn't earn it's slowburn pace and the pay off is "meh" I really liked the First Purge though. I've still never seen the original, but all of the sequels have been a lot of fun. They aren't exactly "good" movies, but they're solid modern B-movie with a strong throwback vibe without feeling like it's trying too hard. They're basically Assault on Precinct 13/Escape from NY Carpenter worship. Their social commentary is about as subtle as a brick to the face, but I'm a Paul Verhoven fan...so... Unrelated: Jim Jarmusch is filming a zombie movie with Bill Murray, Tilda Swinton, Steve Buscemi, and a bunch of others in Upstate NY right now. My girlfriend's dad ran into Bill Murray at his golf club.

Craft beer? Just drink straight liqour in the street. I ate so much amazing food when I was there, but I couldn't tell you were I got like any of it. I'm always down for threads being hijacked for regional chat. What's your band and where do you usually play around here? I always mean to get out to local shows, but then my couch is comfy and my living room bar is much cheaper than going out. I was gonna go out to Big Brave tonight at the Low Beat but then they cancelled. Really wish they'd hit us up on their tour with The Body that ended yesterday.

Mine came in perfect condition today. Harmonic Tremors is that typical "random" gray. Bird of Prey is just straight black.

If it's who I think it's, I'm gonna possibly make it out to a gig depending on where they're hitting the Northeast.
