In case you're like me and you follow this thread but not the Mondo one: Mondo continues to tease the Jurassic Park soundtrack http://modern-vinyl.com/2014/04/16/mondo-teases-upcoming-jurassic-park-vinyl/ They posted a pic like this (minus the center label) months and months ago, so I'm guessing they're holding onto these for a big launch corresponding with some event or another.

Was not expecting this to be worthwhile. Checked it out last night after seeing the hugely positive reaction and I'm definitely hooked. According to wikipedia (this is a casting spoiler, has nothing to do with the plot or anything just tagging it because some people are weird about ANY kind of spoiler) so I'm stoked for that.

Someone on another (non-vinyl) forum said they tried to press the Ravenous score. They got to the point where all they needed was Damon Albarn to sign off on it but just could not get a hold of him or his agent/lawyer/whatever. Hopefully it happens some day. Olympus Has Fallen had Gerard Butler. I just found the whole thing took itself waaaaay too seriously. It was just such a humorless slog. White House Down with Channing Tatum and Jamie Fox at least had a sense of humor/fun to it. Seeing Dogtooth in a theater packed with rich old white people was hilarious.

Hot Topic clearance can be pretty sweet. I got Touche Amore's Demo 7" for $2 back before their first LP came out and my buddy found Converge - You Fail Me for $5. It's been years since I've been in a HT though. The one where I live now doesn't carry vinyl and the one time I went in there and asked the kid at the counter started telling me I could use their kiosk to order records and have them shipped to the store. I had to cut him off like "I know you're just doing your job but I know what the internet is, so calm down I have a movie to catch."

This week I've watched Joe, Mean Girls, Ravenous, A Man Escaped, and Olympus Has Fallen. All of them were dope and worth watching except Olympus Has Fallen which was a garbage movie for trash people. White House Down is where it's at for Die Hard in the White House movies. Joe was especially noteworthy because it contains a subtle (and very good) performance from Nic Cage.

Really glad to know I'm not alone in being close to 30 but still loving the recent wave of emo in the last 5-6 years. American Radass is still one of my favorite records from the past couple years. I honestly haven't listened to BYTA in awhile so I'm excited to listen to it on vinyl with fresh ears when I eventually get it. Feel kinda dumb for not picking up the cassette when I saw them a few years ago. Wasn't a fan of PRetty Good but My Crass Patch is one of their best songs. Speaking of BWM bands being awesome, they're going to be putting out Patch Kit's debut EP and you should all get stoked. New band from Jessica McDermott (The New and Very Welcome). She's awesome and new band sounds awesome.

The Fountain is amazing and the score pushes it into "some next level shit" territory. I love Aronofsky and it's by far my favorite film of his.

Pretty sure Mondo has been teasing Jurassic Park for awhile. I wish someone else was doing it, but shit happens. All I care about (and I fucking love film scores) is The Fountain getting pressed. Clint Mansell has been saying there's something in the works, but who knows.

Yup, pretty much everything BWM puts out is dope as hell. BWM is done with Dads though, there was a personal falling out between Dads/TWIABP and they don't talk anymore. Derrick addressed it once and basically said "We were tight bros for awhile, now we aren't and it makes me really sad." That Cardinal Cardinal ep was a huge bummer. Especially since my copy has a ton of skips and pops. Not that I would ever spin it again. I wear my DADS "Bane" style hoodie like every day though.
