you guys seem to be ignoring that the first real estate record is the best one...

No better music for St Paddy's day than the Celtic sounds of Outkast. 

On a instrumental level if you haven't checked any of the preview tracks out the album is pretty much all stripped back acoustic guitars with occasional keys and some very scaled back fuzz on the penultimate track. As others have stated the lyrics are brutally honest and mostly focus around his wife and the horrendous toll it has taken on him and how her death has impacted even the day to day routines of life. Whilst the album is uncompromisingly personal he taps into so many things that anyone who has experienced grief will understand it's hard not to be moved. I'm not going to lie I cried pretty hard at certain points.

In my opinion this album is brilliant, it's an emotionally grueling listen but it's a really beautiful sincere exploration of the senselessness of death and grief.

Pro-tip: Have some ice-cream/beer/cat or dog to play with on standby as a pick me up afterwards

In a recent interview I think they mentioned that the repetitiveness of Rattlesnake was supposed to help ease people into the microtonal sound but yeah, definitely my least favourite on the album. 
 
Hoping there's room for a real mellow album (like Quarters) before the year's end.

Looks like they've added pics to the Omnian PO page now showing roughly what the 5 potential colour combos might look like (only saw 3 in the previous pic). I'm hoping for either blue or yellow to reflect the deluxe gatefold.

Honestly I'd almost prefer to buy a Volta bootleg over an official just because Omar and Cedric are fucking douchebags and don't deserve my money after the cash grabby shit they've been doing the last 5 or so years. They bitched and moaned about the MOV pressing but never acted on their words and made a superior pressing. 

keep in mind these are aussie dollars, which aren't worth as much as our powerful US dollar. and if you order from the USA, the album is shipped 9,429 miles to get here. after the currency conversion, you are looking at $36.96, hardly the craziest price for an LP that was shipped over a third of the circumference of the earth. not to mention you can buy the album (different variant) from the ATO webstore here in the USA for $23. just wanted to clear this up, because they are releasing another four albums this year.

I just got the last piece I needed to complete my Appleseed Cast collection, their first 7 inch, Tale of the Aftermath.  Managed to get a copy on Ebay for $35 after always seeing it for $65+ on discogs. Pretty happy to complete this collection, my largest collection from a single artist. Hoping to get a new album from them this year.

I was fortunate to catch Phil solo back home in Sydney on what was technically the Clear Moon / Ocean Roar tour but instead he played some kind of bizarro set list of Microphones / early Mount Eerie songs and it was amazing. Here's the set list I grabbed, he also played "I Say No":
