  1. 31st Jan ere. Will post hopefully soon after the 9th with an update.
  2. Got two orders - both processing: 1) Debut + Post 2) Homogenic + Vespertine Got a long list of pre-orders so happy to wait on this coming in. Has anyone from the UK received anything?
  3. Since everyone seems to be getting free swag I was curious so I thought I'd see what the Amazon rep would say to me about it. I tried to get them to comment about this item in particular, but I just got the generic spiel - 'sorry your item was defective, we'll send you another'. I expressed my concern that I would end up with just another defective replacement, but the agent 'assured' me that the replacement would be fine. I have my doubts... In any case, I've gotta send the old one back which I'm fine with. Replacement arrives Sunday so will give it a spin then!
  4. Just got these (AgB, ( ) ) both in today then read this post so decided to document the tracks as I go through. Only have time for ( ) tonight: A1-3 crystal clear B1 - a bit shaky in the right channel throughout, though parts of the track sound great. B2 - really crisp even at the quiet start and end C1 - rough in the right channel, particularly when the song starts ramping up, this sounds spectacular when it really kicks in, however you can tell the noise is still lingering in the background C2 - beautiful when quiet, when that noise kicks in doe :/ painful, dreadful, gah D - the rumor mill is true, there is something not right here either, a bit squirly in the quieter parts when he's doing those icelandic howls or whatever they are, nowhere near as bad as C2. The end is a quasi-distorted mess (although I actually kinda dig what the fault has caused here) entirely listenable and enjoyable If you're not in a rush to have this I would definitely give it a pass and see if the US press resolves some of these issues. For me I'll be keeping it as I got it at the cheaper price, C2 is the only extremely distorted track, but that happens to be my personal least favourite on the album anyway.
  5. Quick discogs, both had several sales at the tail end of 2014, with the Ultra Clear w/ Black & White Splatter copy of Why Aren't I Home being sold as recent as Jan 2015. Get your alerts set and I'm sure you'll be able to grab one soon enough.
  6. Done! Got the split. I listened to the first two tracks earlier at work and got that tingly feeling I first had listening to Our Own Ghost City back in '09. I'll definitely take some time out of tomorrow to listen to the remainder of the album.
  7. Wow this is great news. Our Own Ghost City was the first thing I ever bought on bandcamp. I had wondered what happened to the band. This is definitely getting bought.
  8. Hahaha, I knew I'd get some kind of quip for that "Couldn't wait so I got my gf to send me pics at work." I'll pass the compliment on, she does like doing dem nails!
  9. So my white whale finally arrived! 2 years of searching and I luckily managed to grab it. Couldn't wait so I got my gf to send me pics at work. I normally check any discogs emails I get, mostly its the same stuff from my wantlist that I intend to get around to buying. One email came through literally while I was setting the alarm on my phone to go to sleep at shortly before 1am. Then I noticed this right at the bottom, panicked, went to discogs and bought it straight away. Bearing in mind it had last been sold in December 2013 I imagine it would have went by the morning had I not checked. The beautiful kicker, was that I got it for £20, so what like $32? For something I probably would've paid serious money for had it come up earlier. I feel like I have won the lottery. On to the next whale!
  10. These dudes are great, can't wait until the album drops. The last night of their April tour is here in Sheffield, home-ground for them so it's normally chaos (in the best sense of the word), I'll hopefully grab the record then.
  11. Thanks! All going well I'll post the obligatory pic + brief story in the next few days.
  12. I really don't want to jinx this, but I'm just very excited. After my two year search I may have secured the whale... The harpoon has fixed (discogs purchase), the seller is very reputable, and my payment is now marked as paid. Now all I need is for it to ship and arrive safely, then start thinking up a new signature....
  13. 2002. Idlewild - The Remote Part (Parlophone) is the only one I own from that year. After that they went down hill.
  14. That splatter is tight, I hope mine was one of these early shippers, though I doubt it. Happy to wait as long as it takes.
  15. Gah want this so bad but already paid $120+ in international shipping fees this month, plus preorder costs, need to take the foot off the gas. Definitely on the list to purchase though, the new song is great. DAYS LATER EDIT: All it took was a night out drinking. First thing I done when I came home was order this. Weak, but this will be worth every penny.
  16. Feel everyones pain on duty, most of the stuff I order is from the US so I get bent over by HMRC and Royal Mail all the time (Still reeling after what I ended up paying per record for that 3eb boxset). So glad this won't apply to me with these!
  17. This is great news. I'm so glad I held off on the ETR variant when they first dropped, and stopped myself from getting an inflated price copy. I'll be all over this.
  18. Woahhhh, you're right! Gonna grab post and debut now. EDIT: Thanks for the heads up Slops. just managed to grab them both!
