I know you're joking but I feel that punchline was in bad taste.

Well, everyone.. I made it. After an amazing afternoon with my girlfriend and her family I rushed to new orleans and met up with my friend. I made it 40 minutes after doors and remarkably I was able to meander right to the stage, front center. Being so close resulted in an incredible experience of truly becoming entirely engulfed with their performance.. every aspect was so immaculately refined from their setlist to how well they played each song to the awe inspiring light show. After witnessing a concert which I could only describe as mindblowing I was lucky enough to receive a setlist. As I was staring at it in front of me laying on the stage, a Roadie tossed a handful of used guitar picks onto it, both white and black, featuring the rave tapes logo and band name. I kept one of each color and chased down the guy who stood next to me during the show and gave him one of each as well. He left after thanking me and I grabbed a copy of Rave Tapes on vinyl. Just then a multi instrumentalist from the band, Barry, walked into the then empty bar/merch room and I was able to have a nice conversation with him. He joked about driving to Miami the next day and told my friend and I how he and his wife watch Miami vice, which sounded extra silly coming from his awesome Scottish accent. He saw my record and happily pulled out the sleeve and signed it to my name and left a nice little message with his signature.
Making it to new orleans for Mogwai was the best decision ever.

Speaking of, why didn't baseball and menorah get a vinyl release whenever they did the rarities tour? Baseball has some of the most crucial songs to my teenage years on it.

Is it abnormal to dislike crowdsufers/stagedivers? I know its a bit off topic but I always grimace whenever I take a glance behind to see a tumbling 150 pound guy rolling in the air on top of frustrated hands pushing him towards my location and the stage. Then they just "dive" right back in and "surf" backwards. It's a bit difficult to focus and enjoy the performance whenever you're defending your nose from stray knees lol.
Similar to how any time I've attended a larger concert and a teenage girl passes out/overheats and for three mintes everything revolves around getting them out (which is obviously necessary) I'm just reminded of whenever I attended the Yeezus tour and all of I'm In It became a security guard wall attempting to pull out one teenage girl and the majority of the song was missed by everyone on the right side of the crowd.

I'm surprised he's still attempting to progress in the industry. Largest case of talent dwarfed by personality/choices I've ever witnessed. Won't deny he's an impressive vocalist though.

So many people complaining about enjoying something simply for the joy of nostalgia .. I don't understand it. Maybe because I put such focus on previous childhood enjoyments and the innocent, pure nostalgic pleasure they bring. The way an old Monster Hunter VHS tape found at a thrift store can take my mind from the stress and disdain of life in the present, all the terror that aging into your twenties and farther can bring, instead remembering briefly the simple excitement of enjoying entertainment in childhood. For me I cherish such catalysts. So whether it be a thrift store, ebay sellers or Hot Topic, I greatly appreciate when fate leads me to encountering such remembered joy. No matter where it's found. So even if hot topic is mainly marketing transparent Disney tshirt prints to a youth who never experienced the content they're sporting in the same way we did before they were even born, the store will always find a customer in adults like myself who greatly appreciate the value of all the commercial represses they acquire rights to market.

if memory serves I'm almost certain he starter song shop after In Defense and before Self Titled. Teenage me was obsessed with the concept of my then favorite lyricist writing a song for me so I remember it pretty well. Still never got one and am kinda disgusted to know he did the shop for so many years. Just seems to stretch a lyricist thin.

I'm curious what you find feminine or immature about enjoying both those bands. Especially brand new. Sure, blink was young and silly on many early releases but they developed and released well crafted albums. And brand news Devil and God and Vices in no way show any signs of youthful femininity. So I'm just confused as to why you'd insinuate their fanbases are predominantly young teen females. The only reason I can think of is that these are bands one usually finds early in their music discovering endeavours. Still, though, that in no way diminishes the respect their adult fanbases have for the music they create.
