I have an original but not an MOV. It's a toss-up. Bass is better on the new press, but the highs are slightly distorted in some spots. 
 
Of course you need a second copy. 

Get the AP version of Core. It's that much better. This thing sounds ridiculous. 

It's been discounted for at least the past three months. I would hold off. I'll drop my thoughts on which is the better pressing as soon as the AP one comes out. 

I'm a bit limited with local stores, but will try and hit up two or three of them that day as I really want this and Mansun.
Else will keep an eye on out banquet, norman, Piccadilly, specialist subject etc as they post leftovers pretty sharpish.

I have mine on order. Core comes out early March, but no release date for Purple yet. 
 
The 30th anniversary 2LP pressing of Core already crushed the MOV. Really excited to hear if it's even further improved.

Out 2/2/24, no preorder info yet but hoping it comes soon.  This one is self-released and is supposed to be “more reflective and somber” than his others.  
 
First single, Fractal, is out and it’s huge:

When I compare this set to something like Failure’s 92-96 box set, even if there was a ~$30 difference, it shows how bare bones this one is.  I’m sure it’s somewhat by design, sleek, simple, etc., but they could’ve at least printed on the spines of the jackets.
 
But, like you said, I’ve spun Coloring Book and Our Color Green, and they both sound excellent.  I should probably give them a cleaning as there are a few pops, but the sound quality really does shine here.

Alright quick Google search shows that apparently this was done on purpose.  Kind of makes sense.  I noticed it flowed pretty nicely in the new order.  Just kind of took my by surprise is all.
