batnoises reacted to Shelby in Sorority Noise - You're Not As ______ As You Think
I just get really excited when Rot Forever is being discussed.

batnoises reacted to janer05 in FT: Boxcar Racer 2012 HT Press (will take almost any trade)
Gone!
I bought it on a whim and have never played it. I'm pretty sure it's the opaque red HT repress from 2012 (at least that's what I wrote down on my deadformat list... I can't make any guarantees on the pressing because I'm at work right now- it's not from the most recent pressing, and I got it at a HT store years ago). If you're interested in a trade, let me know. U.S. only- sorry.
I am NOT looking for something out of press... I'm talking almost any record that you have sitting around that you don't play but think someone else might enjoy. I just want to get it into the hands of someone that missed out on the recent repress, and get a record that I'll actually listen to out of it. Feel free to check out the list in my signature to get a general idea of my musical interests- unfortunately my list hasn't been updated for a few months so I may have the record you want to trade... but it'll give you an idea of. First person to PM will likely get it- as long as I don't have a copy and it's in the realm of what I listen to, I'll make the trade.

/100 is an insane amount of test presses but these unique covers are killer

I'd expect a shipping notification early next week. Really excited to hear everything given the enormously positive reception. Haven't heard a second - waiting to hear it all in full.

Happy for a bandcamp preorder. I enjoy getting the digital album added to my collection rather than an MP3 card for some random download site. I wish more artists did this.

batnoises got a reaction from pizza face in PO Soon: LIL UGLY MANE - MISTA THUG ISOLATION 5TH ANNIVERSARY YELLOW VINYL REISSUE
I've never heard his music yet I have most of what he's put out with orm I purchased when drunk. It honestly showed up like a month or two ago when I purchased the stuff I want to say well over a year ago. That label is awful.

Thoughts I had while listening to this album today:
Is this good?
Is this bad?
Is this a joke?
Is this transcendent?
If so, is it because it's good or bad?
Why are the most ridiculous tracks also the best tracks?
Did he just reference the medulla oblongata?
Did he just get kinda serious all of a sudden?
Overall I liked the production throughout and I was a bit confused by some of it...probably will listen again, though

Hell yeah! I love Deafheaven!
Oh wait.

batnoises reacted to dnl in Taking Back Sunday- Self Titled, louder now and new again
Seriously, thanks for the laugh. This is one of the funniest things I've read on this site. A couple people think they have some rare OOP record so they never open them. But nope its some pictures.

batnoises reacted to ethereal in Record Store Day 2017
I feel like RSD as of the past couple years have been a list of auto-pass releases until like the 3 weeks before when they pull out Death Grips or some other crazy title to make the day actually worth it

batnoises reacted to xfactor675 in PO now: Spraynard - Mable lp

new fog lake album is nothing short of what I expected. Incredible stuff.
weird though it was released through OT, and they've yet to even comment on a physical release or even the album itself

Holy shit that thing is ugly. Good luck. Even if you fuck up it's guaranteed to look better than stock.

That vroom vroom EP is surprisingly fire. I've been waiting for a copy to pop up on discogs.

Still nothing on bull moose. I'm hoping a color variant gets announced too.

batnoises reacted to Derek™ in Sorority Noise - You're Not As ______ As You Think
Not singling you out specifically, but I kind of enjoy releases that aren't explicitly numbered up front. (I'm anal-retentive enough that I like as much pressing info as possible – but I'm okay if it's posted at a later time.) I feel like it prevents a lot of scrambling for the "rarest" variant that's /100 or /300. I can't speak for all releases, but looking at sale history at Discogs, I often see the more attractive or "better matching" variant sell for significantly more than its rarer (vanilla) counterpart. There are exceptions to this, of course, but I see a lot of labels dedicate the "rarest" variant to black 180 gram, or white, or clear... and even though they may be /100, over time that /500 starburst or /800 color-in-color ends up fetching double the amount. Seems to happen quite a bit.
Obviously this shouldn't really matter if you're looking to keep the record for yourself instead of flipping it, and I completely understand wanting to own the rarest variant of a release that you're stoked on... but I guarantee you that there are many people out there who decide on their variants based solely off of rarity, and it just seems like a bad way to go about it. For those of us who care about rarity, I think it's kind of fun to order what appeals most to you – or guess, if you're indifferent – and then huddle around an official posting of "the numbers" a month down the road, to see what you ended up grabbing compared to your peers. Maybe that's just me.
Anyways.
As someone who's pretty lukewarm, at best, to this particular niche of the emo scene – and who gets little to nothing out of Joyce Manor, The Hotelier, Modern Baseball, You Blew It!, etc. – I did not have much of any hope in checking out No Halo. But I will be the first to admit that I walked away from it completely surprised. I echo the sentiments who feel the Deja vibes; particularly in those backing vocals. If it's an accurate depiction of the songwriting for the entire record, I'd gladly check out the full length.

I thought their first LP was ok, still haven't listed to Joy Departed, but grabbed the tricolor immediately after listening to No Halo because god damn.

Praying for vinyl of the ep, Trash Particle has to be the best song ever written by them
