I'm with you. This one felt sincere to me (and it looks like most folks here) so they didn't get the snark brigade.
 
Plus a bunch of people learned that you can search matrices on discogs, and I'm glad they did. It's the only way I search when I'm adding stuff now, especially older stuff.

@Derek™ I share your take completely. But also not "completely" because I collect first presses for Against Me and The Lawrence Arms. 
Otherwise I only care about sound quality. (And cool splatturz!)

Big news! VMP has Tidal by Fiona Apple back in stock (2xLP 45RPM!), this time I don't miss it out (or pay it 150$ later on discogs)

As someone who has only had vinyl for about 20 years (and seriously collected for 12), I can say that I've had many experiences with pressing issues on newer vinyl, that I don't really see on pressings from the 80s and prior. I think when demand died with CDs, quality control became lackluster at the few remaining plants.
Just a guess...
