Gave it my first listen last night. "Pistol" is, by all accounts and measures, fucking intolerable. Almost as intolerable as a Ween song. (I went for the easy joke- I don't actually dislike Ween that much).
 
I'm really digging most the rest of the record though. Some tracks I actually thought, "This is some of the best Modest Mouse I've ever heard." And I never said that about anything on the last album. We'll see how often it makes the rotation though... guessing about as much as the last one which is pretty much never. Or it could be my summer record the way Good News was 10 years ago even though a bunch of douchebags ruined it by liking it or whatever.

Travis, any chance of ever doing some Limp Bizkit reissues?  Three Dollar Bill, Yall$

It's not like there were any lyrics to the Brand New lullaby renditions. Are there even any lyrics for any of the lullaby albums?
So who gives a shit. If it sounds cool and puts your kid to sleep, then it did its job.

There's plenty of metal bands and Radiohead.

while that does look great, I'm suddenly really happy with my indica version.

The teaser is not as bad as I was expecting. I'm anticipating what the lead single will be (aka one of the three songs your local alt station will play 3 times an hour for the next year)

With how many thousands of copies they pressed and sold for their first two albums, the price for this one will probably plummet to $15 (maybe less) later this year when the massive pressing they put out for this album takes up space on store shelves and in warehouses everywhere.  

I'd rather see Wes Anderson soundtracks pressed before PTA soundtracks.

It would also be awesome to see a vinyl pressing of the Magnolia (Aimee Mann's songs really made the movie).. and There Will Be Blood score....Especially TWBB....
I liked Punch Drunk Love but I wasn't really a fan of the music...
