try to keep some perspective on this box set guys.. we're not going to make 10 of them, there will be plenty. there were a lot of issues tracking down masters, original art files and making this a special box to commemorate the band. that being said, we're getting closer to having a PO but we just want to make sure we have a grasp on everything before we start collecting money.

Yep all good! Seriously, you guys are going to love it. The last track is very sparse instrumentally and it was spot on right till the end. Record has very low surface noise too. Volume is not mastered hot, pretty standard as I set to my normal settings. Thankfully it works well on a single LP! Hope the HT variant is as good.

Toki has proven himself over the years, and has always been willing to help people who are having trouble getting records when he is able. Now that the tables have turned he's the one being helped, this is what the community is about.

The sound quality suffers not because it is 65 minutes split across two sides, but because it is 65 minutes of Def Leppard.

I never stopped listening to 108's songs - such a great LP, a real seminal piece in my collection. I remember seeing them at the old Utility House in Gainesville in 1995 and a bunch of Krishna's from the local farm came to see them and didn't look too happy.
I don't know, music influenced me politically and socially. I think I found a positive path through it. It's a slippery slope but I think it isn't being used to strongarm people into believing things, I think the majority of people that spend their time making awful religion inspired music come from a place where they genuinely want to share something important to them like any other band.
Music has had no influence on me religiously. My Pop is a Devout Catholic who knew Pope John Paul 2 - My Mom is Jew. I rejected both. I really think religion is very personal and a) is not for everyone and b ) requires exploration. I guess I can see some music as being a means to explore. At one time in my life due to my vegetarianism someone told me I had to try buddism. I wanted to like it but it didn't appeal to me.
I don't have the definitive answer, I just don't believe in black and white. I watched kids at Food Not Bombs rail against religion on Sundays while I saw the Church down the street offer those same kids their kitchen to prepare that food. I watched that same church offer free meals 7 days a week. I just see plenty of good out there but I'd never say that all religious institutions are good and at the same time I wouldn't come close to saying all are bad.
I'm rambling. This isn't a subject I spend much time on honestly. I mentioned earlier it is personal and I keep it largely private accordingly.

Having grown up in the church I feel I can add my two cents.
Most churches are full of great people, most of them are just very very misguided. If your belief isn't hurting anyone than who cares...
I even like folks like Rob Bell who preach for a more evenhanded approach, saying that gays have rights and all, but that's a different Mars Hill.
This is the Mars Hill run by Mark Driscoll and that guy is psycho. http://www.vice.com/read/the-secret-sin-of-mark-driscoll

listen jhook:
No one is flaming you for your belief system, whatever it is. I don't personally subscribe to the idea of organized christianty, but I am trying to make a point that everyone has a right to believe what they want to believe without being harassed as long as they aren't being offensive.
There are plenty of asshole's who subscribe to this belief system or that belief system. Just because there was once an asshole christian who did terrible things does not mean that all of them should be judged as such.. There are plenty of asshole atheists (yes, atheism is a belief system) who have done terrible things as well, but that doesn't mean I'm going to march out and claim that all atheists are full of shit morons.
Judge people by their actions, not how they choose to deal with their own personal perspective on existence.

Watch the HBO Documentary 12th and Delaware. Its about our small little city. A heap of churches go out an protest and confront people at a local abortion clinic EVERY single day. Quit their jobs. My friend, and my Co Worship Director yelled at them on camera. Most people with a brain can see that what they are doing is wrong. Not all churches believe these things. Not all churches are about hate. Don't put a whole group of people in a box because of a label and a crappy history. My church is a Biker church. Quite the opposite of church in the whole spectrum of things. I've been so many places in this country. These "Westboro" type of people are an extremely small number. Its funny that you fight what you believe to be Hate with more Hate. If you don't like it, get up and do something about it and stop complaining on forums.

A) Nothing in this thread is punk, and we've already discussed that point in another thread.
Expanding your stereotypes to other religions makes it no less offensive. Everyone deserves respect regardless of their believe system. And no one person is representative of their belief system or the stereotypes attached to them.

Chevelle - Sci-Fi Crimes. This needs to be pressed immediately.
That black thing is where the lyrics would go, but (and I can't stress this enough) I'm really lazy.

Yes and no, there is no 100% conclusive evidence to say that he existed as a man, however, there are other figures with less evidence in support of their existence that we don't question.
I think it's fairly same to assume he existed, it's the details of that existence that are questionable.
Also, I love Religulous, so good.

Bands can suck regardless if their religious inclination, there are some good and some TERRIBLE metal ore bands on both sides of the fence
