NapalmBrain got a reaction from B-dosia in PO: Sugar Ray- Lemonade and Brownies MOV 180g
I've most definitely heard this album, and also retain my opinion of this never needing an lp release and my distaste in delay for new, interesting records as a result of releases like this crowding the line

No, just something against terrible forgettable 90s music being pressed on vinyl. This is why records take 8 months to get pressed, cause labels are putting out bullshit you can buy for .99 on cd, it's not going to be dramatically better or anything like most 90s stuff it's not like it was recorded all analog (could be wrong but it's rare to see in the 90s, DATs were super popular). Between this, Everclear and Goo Goo Dolls I think I'm going to be sick

Im hoping for 5 Starkweather LPs. I want to sell them for $2.99 each on Discogs and make $3 profit for 4-18 months of work/time.

What an incredible waste of vinyl, resources, effort, and time

Deathwish just did a short live Periscope stream of them packing these up and showed what was going to be in there. Here's what they showed (couldn't remember all the album titles tho)

Cult Leader
Rise And Fall
Acid Tiger
100 Demons
Blacklisted
Starkweather
Narrows
Horrorshow
Death Of Lovers

I worked in record stores for 6 years I've heard wayyyyyyyyyyy too much Pearl Jam. I will consent Yield had some different songs and that I'm an overgeneralizing asshole because I heard way too much of them (Ten, Vs., and that stupid Into The Wild Soundtrack in particular). i just don't like Eddie Vedder ok >.>

NapalmBrain got a reaction from glass realms in PO: Sugar Ray- Lemonade and Brownies MOV 180g
I can't stand PJ either, both them and the goo goo dolls are so derivative, such little variation in songwriting and unadventurous does nothing for me personally. But I did not like grunge much or the influence it had on pop music

NapalmBrain got a reaction from niblips in Wild Ones - Heatwave EP
female fronted indie pop band on topshelf records, they are alright I guess but I'm slightly prejudiced because of the other band I dunno if I can commit to listening to 2 bands with the same name

NapalmBrain got a reaction from niblips in Wild Ones - Heatwave EP
Sorry to slightly derail, but just out of curiosity how many of you are aware there was already an all girl surf rock band called the Wild Ones? Honestly one of my favorite albums in my collection. It's like a mix of the ramones and the shangri-las, unfortunately they broke up but I'm always eager to show others this band, and this is a good excuse as any.

John Lennon was a drug addict who beat his wife. Artists can be shitty people, but you are still allowed to enjoy their art. I assure you that you can listen to Thriller without a child molester getting money. I can also assure you that not listening to Michael Jackson does not change what may or may not have happened.

Personifies what I hate about clueless, entitled new collectors a VG+ record with light surface marks on a somewhat rare record and she throws a shit fit. This represents how I feel after watching this video

It is hard to fault what ya'll are saying as it IS in the paypal guidelines, but I just find it really sad that people are so willing to ditch 20+ years of accepted etiquette because some payment websites TOS says they'll pull your money back if you aren't completely happy with your purchase, basically making buying records off of some guy on discogs the same as buying something from a large chain.
It's just so weird to me how much peoples attitudes have changed in such a short amount of time. For so long the worldwide record trading community has been this really cool, friendly thing with people helping each other find records they are looking for, and not slamming each other with refund demands every time something goes wrong. Now people are attempting credit card chargebacks if they don't receive their record within a few weeks or if the corners are bent a little.

NapalmBrain got a reaction from Cloudsbelow in PO Now: Sigur Ros "Takk" Repress
Of course online is cheaper, the amount of overhead is substantially less in an online store. To keep the lights on in a brick & mortar they are going to have to mark them up higher or music isn't what's keeping the doors open (boutique, smoking accessories, adult films (anything you can mark up double or more). You also get the benefit of a potentially interesting conversation with fellow collectors/music enthusiasts, discovering new music over the loud speakers, and who knows what else you might stumble upon thumbing through the racks. I only use online to find needles in a haystack or buy exclusives through labels. So much of the appeal of vinyl to me is the treasure hunt, something that online sucks all the fun out of. Yeah it was nice to finally win that Jets To Brazil auction, but it wasn't as satisfying as stumbling on to "Modern Guilt" at Black & Read, despite the album being less important to me personally. I think so many could benefit from spending an extra couple hours and bucks and going to your local. I promise it will diversify your tastes (most of your dead formats have some combination of the same 30 bands!)

NapalmBrain reacted to runforcover in COMING SOON: NFG - from the screens to your stereo part 2 - Variant Contest
Apparently all it takes for people to not give a shit who they're giving their money to is pop punk covers of Sixpence None the Richer songs.
This board gets so up in arms about labels reissuing records without artists consent, yet no one says shit about this. Drive Thru and the people behind it are 10000000x more deserving of criticism and loss of support than some random dude reissuing a major label release that will sell 500 copies.

I totally want to go back in time and marry Betty- before she was- Davis. Super hot.
Here's a few I've enjoyed picking up/listening to in the past year or so. Apologies for the crappy picture taking...I do my best.
Not exactly obscure but hey at least they're evenly gender distributed.

NapalmBrain reacted to TheGhostOfRandySavage in A discussion about record flippers
Listen.
I've flipped a record or two in my day, but if you're going to do it on here...be discrete about it.
I knew somebody wanted that Sufjan 7" so I PM'ed them and sold it to them at an inflated price, but still far less than they'd be able to get it elsewhere.
Seeing as it was tour only and going for $100+ everywhere else, $60ppd didn't seem that bad to him. Take into account the cost of tickets to the show ($40 + fees here), the cost of the 7" itself ($10), shipping, and that $60 just about let me break even on the night.
What I'm saying here is that many of us may have flipped something once or twice, but there are some people who are huge offenders in this category, either doing it so often or asking absurd prices for stuff that they bought specifically to sell. If you want to sell records as a job, open a store. Obviously people on this forum aren't a fan of flipping, so making threads to flip, or mentioning in other threads that you're selling something new at an inflated price isn't smart.
Sell stuff on eBay/discogs and don't promote it here, or privately contact people about stuff they want, and less users on here will hate you. Then maybe, just maybe, we can avoid stupid threads like this where everyone is just arguing about the semantics of what flipping a record really means.

I'd just start chronologically from "A>B Life", its pretty neat to see their progression. It's definitely got their least amount of sung vocals, so if thats bothersome you could start at CFUTF (which is the album that hooked me when it came out)
