celebdeath reacted to 828321 in PO: Faith No More- Angel Dust
Australia got the initial versions without Easy on Slash/Liberation Records. It wasn;t an import:
First version was misprinted and quickly fixed.
Then in January 1993 Angel Dust was repackaged and initially sold in Australia on CD by Slash/Liberation and was repackaged under a different catalogue number, In 1994, it was released under Slash/London Records in Australia. in 1999 is was given a new catalogue number. Then in 2003 released on Warner Music Australia and Slash.
In other words, Australia got Easy on their copies of Angel Dust in January 1993 along with the UK, South America, Japan and Europe.

Really, I didn't realize! I remember reading they had issues and that delayed it but didn't know it made it out that way. Screw it then, I'll go black. Thanks.

I went for the 2xLP purple. I wish they provided tracking info with media mail. At least I know it's shipped.

celebdeath reacted to kk-downing in PO: Alice in Chains - The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here
I do like those records, I just meant this particular batch has yet to grip me. Of course I've only listened to it twice so far. Could be a grower. Their last one took a few years to truly click for me.
Nothing in my eyes will top their self titled record. Really wish someone would reissue that.

celebdeath reacted to bear801 in PO: Alice in Chains - The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here
i'll be another annoying "old" fan. I've always realized that Jerry was the writer but it still feels false without Layne. His voice is what drew a lot of people to the band and in some sick way his life made the music and lyrics more legit.
I'm glad they finally get to tour and I'm sure it sucked wondering if he would show up to the studio every morning. I have no issues with them going on and I think Duvall is great but for me personally Layne's absence is too big. It would be like PJ without Vedder, Soundgarden without Cornell, etc. Sometimes the frontman becomes the band. The last album and this song just feels like a tribute show to me.
My wife and I went out and repurchased AIC Unplugged on April 5th and blasted it all the way home. Good times.

celebdeath reacted to Derek™ in THE OFFICIAL EBAY CRAZINESS THREAD
I know I sound like an elitist asshole, and for that I apologize. But at the end of the day, it's just my opinion... much like you have yours. I personally find a lot of pop-punk to sound like a mundane, contrived, power-chord borefest with laughable lyrics... but I won't go around saying that the genre is overrated. People like what they like.

celebdeath reacted to burntwolf in PO: Clutch "Earth Rocker"
I think they hyped it up as being in the Blast Tyrant vein a bit too much plus using the same producer. It's not in BT league imo. It's just solid good Clutch.
Better than last few but none of those were bad per se either.
Elephant Riders and Blast Tyrant are the higher water marks for me.

Their releases are always really high quality and the colors they choose for the vinyl are always pleasing to the eye. Great label.
