Best Buy came through with the order pick-up. Just ran through Astro's Playroom, very fun and easy Platinum if you're into that stuff. I'm about to start Miles Morales, gonna pick up the new COD tomorrow as well. The PlayStation Plus collection is also gonna keep me busy for a while.

Been working a little bit, the live entertainment industry really doesn't know how to handle this. I've been private contracting at my former work (concert venue) and we've been doing film shoots and today we're doing a filmed concert. One gig was overkill where we had to have N95 face masks and face shields and it made working difficult. Another event had a crew where everyone was too lax and not wearing masks to which my boss and I made them at least do that. Fortunately most crews my work have taken are in the middle, everyone wearing masks, keeping their distance when necessary, elbow bumps instead of hand shakes, etc. I'm not sure how the industry is gonna survive this financially since we were the first to close up and will be the last to open up. My boss told us yesterday he might get furloughed meaning I'll be back to no work again, but I'll make due, I kinda wanna change industries, I could easily go to film but I wouldn't mind leaving the entertainment biz, real stressful at times and when lockdown happened it felt like it was all for nothing. Also, I'm very curious to see how California handles this election.

I don't know what people expect from Warped tour, especially moving forward. The festival was intended for teens and young adults, so that demographic should dictate who plays. I feel like most of the people who complained about the tour were older people who weren't gonna go anyways. Anybody who wanted the tour to "stuck to its roots" and only book punk, ska-punk and pop punk were clearly out of touch as to what this festival had to do to survive, which was cater to the new youth and their music tastes. I was in high school in the early 2010s, and all the "counter-culture" kids were listening to shit like Pierce the Veil, Sleeping with Sirens, Asking Alexandria, etc. as well as shit like Brokencyde and Breathe Carolina and that's who Warped was booking in the early 2010s. There was always a counter-culture aesthetic to the artist who played the tour, and in 2020 I'm not really sure what youth counter-culture is. 100 gecs? Poppy? I have no idea, I feel like most teens are listening to Travis Scott and Billie Eilish, who both have a grittier less pop aesthetic as is, yet they're both pop artists. Counter-culture went mainstream ironically, and that was the axe for Warped tour. What were they to do, do they cater to the former 90s and 2000s demographic who's now older and want their nostalgia, or do you continue to be the festival for the youth, like its initial intentions? I think we should just let Warped tour rest in peace and enjoy the times we had with it, whether it was in the 90s, 2000s, or 2010s.

Yeah I was gonna make a comment on how that was probably gonna happen. The new model is make these "timed releases" to create FOMO, and bundling each item with a digital copy of the album to equate an album sale, then on a final day make them all available again for those who were either undecided or missed out. It's marketing genius, I think.

What the hell is going on with the discogs release. Some users don't have the clear yet so they removed the submission. Discogs people care too much, it's definitely in people's hands and just because somebody didn't update the web mock-ups with actual pictures yet (it has only been a couple days) doesn't mean it should get removed? I get Discogs technically wants the release in hand but who fucking cares??? Especially when you can go on IG and see it exists, you can even steal a picture and post it, fuck it. Hell, we have a picture right above me.

Wow, I got my shipping notification day of release and it came yesterday. If only the album was as good as that service.

Well fortunately I get to re-up at the old price being a legacy member but these are definitely the last 6 months I'll give them, since they're pressing Def Jam albums (Muddy Waters) we better get Channel Orange or some unpressed Kanye. Hell I'll take a really good pressing of College Dropout or Late Registration, since neither of those albums have been given a good vinyl pressing. Some Jay Z would be nice too.

Microsoft with the big brain announcing they've acquired ZeniMax Media a day before Xbox pre-orders go up. I'm curious to see what the future holds in these regards, especially for all of Bethesda and ID Software's franchises.

I'm excited for PS5, especially with the PS+ collection, I have about half those games already through PS+ but a lot I don't have and want. Probably only gonna get Spiderman MM on release day, I still havent touched a bunch of my PS4 games, so I'm probably gonna start RDR2 and ZDH once I get my PS5. Also, I'm pretty upset about the standard pricing for games going up 10 dollars this gen. Honestly I don't see any real justifiable reasoning behind it, it's just asshole capitalism, especially terrible for the digital edition since physicals typically drop in price faster.
