Are we...the pretentious record collector assholes...the only ones who feel that TOOL keep trolling us?

Cuz I am sure that the regular TOOL fans would be excited for this merch drop.

But hey...what the fuck do I know?

Possibly but non-record collectors might have been thinking it was a live stream or tour announcement, new album (LOL) rather than some merch.

The response on Reddit was similar to here though and I would think they probably represent the average fan.

What is the Tool Army reaction? The hardcore fans may be super hyped by the new merch?

ooodamnnnn.  Always when I try to stop buying any more vinyl for the rest of the month.

Question; is RunOutGroove US based only or do they have a UK/Europe site also, would like to get this exclusive web version but shipping always kills me.

That's a good question. I got my copy of As Daylight Dies from RoughTrade UK but I'm unaware if there was a special webstore version of it.

If you are one of the handful of people who happily bought a VG record off me with pre-disclosed large warps for $80 and didn’t grumble at all about the condition or try to offer me half the asking price over the last month, I forgive you, my friend.

You can’t see the warps when it’s hanging on the wall.

  4. I got an email the other day saying it’s delayed from the euro store.

We wanted to give you an update about your order. Due to recent global events, we are experiencing a delay with some of our latest merchandise, and we are going to receive our stock later than expected, on 9th April 2021. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

The items affected by this delay are the following:

    ·         Monkey Ringer T-Shirt

    ·         Stink Breath Pullover Hoodie

    ·         Vintage Neon Photo T-Shirt

    ·         Vintage Insomniac Photo T-Shirt

    ·         Free Hugs T-Shirt

    · Insomniac Remastered 25th Anniversary Coloured Vinyl 2LP”

Honestly, as much as I hate to say it...umm...aloud: the whole thing is a fly by night cash grab. They're gonna use all the old plates, a couple new ones, make a book and box. The TMV will bank over half a million and do whatever they were gonna do anyway. But, here I am buying at first chance.

The interview they did says they've been remastered so hopefully that's the case.

"These 180gram vinyl editions – pressed from vinyl lacquers freshly remastered by Clouds Hill’s in-house engineer Chris von Rautenkranz– represent the best way to hear this music as the artists intended."

It's been awhile but my Mars Volta internet conspiracy engine is still intact. The mock ups on https://us.cloudshillshop.com/collections/the-mars-volta/products/the-mars-volta-la-realidad-de-los-suenos-vinyl-box-set clearly show both a Cedric and an Omar etching on Plague and Eunuch, indicating heavily that those two songs will have their own discs. Using trigonometry I have determined that, based on the pressings I have, 5 albums save FTM are 2LPs coming in at 10, Plague and Eunuch given the face etchings (gratuitous) makes 14, Frances being 3 makes 17. Summer Sessions are most likely 1LP, so the question is if the original etching on the F side of the black original pressing of Frances is replaced with the ST track from the 4th disc of the glow in the dark special edition.

    TL;DR, nobody knows

I make it 5 albums (not including ftm) are 2 LP = 10

    The ep = 1

    The 2 records with etchings = 2

    The sessions = 1

That’s only 14 so FTM might be 4 LP. Or it’s 3 LP and there’s something else in there.

They sold 5000 copies of a $500+ box in less than 24/hrs in a global pandemic. I do sorely hope that constitutes proof enough that there is just cause to release them separately.

Not entirely surprising, there will be a lot of folk still in work /  working from home but without the usual luxury things to spend their cash on e.g. no gigs, festivals, restaurants, holidays.

Thats how I’ve justified it anyway.

Pretty bummed. I finally picked up my reserve copy (the indie yellow) of this from a local shop and Side A seems to be off-pitch. The notes drone and sound way off compared to the digital version I've heard. My tonearm is clearly moving side to side as it tracks, so I'm thinking this is an off-centre pressing issue.

Has anyone had this problem with their yellow copy?!

Spinning my yellow just now and it sounds really good.

This got number1 in the U.K. album chart btw. Quite an achievement for a post rock band 😁
