Almost through the first disc... sounds OK, a bit noisier than I'd like but no skips. It's a gorgeous set, I love all the thought and care put into the packaging.

I agree with the comments above. I think the best approach is not to worry about it. Just buy what you want, and if you come across a pressing which sounds bad to you, return it or sell it. The risk really isn't substantial. I share your frustration with the inconsistency in quality between releases. So much of what is available today has clearly been rushed or otherwise compromised by sloppy manufacturing. But every once in a while I do get some near-perfect pressings that really elevate the experience of listening to a particular album, which somehow makes the whole thing worth it, at least for me.

It's great to see this album get continued recognition. I remember downloading it from emusic, maybe in 2006 or something, and not really knowing what to think about out, just knowing that it was special. I've been consistently returning to it and it keeps getting better.

He comes more from the metal side of things where it's not really picked up. It's more dream than pop I guess but a few of you might like it over here. It's dreamy, romantic, shoegazy as far as I am concerned.

Also, a few pages back I posted my band's new video single. Well, now the whole 4-track EP is out and one of Germany's most important music magazines, VISIONS, has picked it as their "demo of the month" in the current print issue. So, as apparently it isn't utter shit, I thought you folks might be interested in checking it out as well. Grabbed all four from Deathwish. I was waffling on whether to track all of these down but getting them all in one fell swoop made it easy. I somehow have every 12"/10"/7" they've ever released, minus a couple comps, so I guess I'm keeping the streak going after all.

I definitely prefer poly lined sleeves as well, but to me the bigger problem is the insane amount of dust and debris I often find on band new records. This one was pretty clean. I think the noise seems to be embedded in the grooves, not a dirt or scratch issue. I'll give it a wet clean but I'm not optimistic it will do anything. Also, I'm on the B side now, and while there is still some noise it's not as bad and fades a few tracks in. The album sounds gorgeous otherwise.

So I spotted this through a friend and haven't seen anything about it anywhere yet possibly because the pre-orders not live just yet but according to the net pre-sales start in early October which is only a few days away and the box is supposedly out by December.


 
Burning World Records is set to release a box set of the complete works of cult favourites The Angelic Process on vinyl in December 2017. Included in the box, titled We All Die Laughing, set will be all material the band deemed fit for release starting with … And Your Blood Is Full Of Honey from 2001 and ending with Weighing Souls With Sand from 2007 that was released earlier on vinyl by Roadburn Records (2007) and Burning World Records (2016).
The box set will contain:
… And Your Blood Is Full Of Honey LP (2001) Coma Waering LP (2003) Sigh EP LP (2006) We All Die Laughing LP (2006) Weighing Souls With Sand 2LP (2007) So 6 slabs of vinyl in total, all with new artwork by Maurice de Jong (Gnaw Their Tongues) who already did the re-issues of Coma Waering and Weighing Souls With Sand. The first 100 copies sold on our website will also include a cd with the material of the Solipsis promo cd the band send to a couple of labels at the time.
The box set will also be available in a digital form with most of the material being available for the first time ever.
Pre-sales will start in October.

Already hopped on Coma Waering and Weighing Souls re-issues but this is an easy double dip for me. Hoping I get in that first hundred, this will probably be heinously expensive to import but I'm a sucker for Angelic Process.

Pretty interesting.  Adam Savage (of Mythbusters fame)  visits the first new vinyl pressing plant built in the US in 30 years.
