2notepockets got a reaction from monsterrod in DEAFHEAVEN - Ordinary Corrupt Human Love
Haha I knoww, and I was metorphrically trying to express that I find the album bland/uninteresting by comparing it to other things I find to also be bland /uninteresting... Brick is ok at best OCHL is below average, borderline lame imho. Strike 1 for Deafheaven, I hope I like the next one more.
I would suggest to anyone who hasn't already checked out the last Chaos Moon or Mare Cognitum albums to do so as they are full of tasty postness, riffs, carbs and gluten

Haha, already have all the DxAx stuff, but my copy of Inalienable is just a bit banged up and I've been looking for an upgrade copy for a while. Grabbed all the other DxAx for cheap on RTK tho.

Been rediscovering Discordance Axis recently and found an online book about the making of The Inalienable Dreamless enjoying it thus far:

If you haven't heard this album before change that now:

Enjoy!

Man I've been wanting Hydra Head to repress Inalienable Dreamless and the Gridlink stuff for a while now. I remember them posting something about a potential Gridlink repress a few years ago but nothing came into fruition. I even talked to Aaron before a Sumac set and he sounded like those weren't gonna happen for the forseeable future.

GARDSGHASTR Announce Debut Album “Slit Throat Requiem”
GARDSGHASTR a new black metal entity created by the forces comprised of prolific members culled from black metal artists Bekëth Nexëhmü and Chaos Moon unleash their debut album “Slit Throat Requiem” (out on April 26 on CD/2LP/Digital), an epic bewitching symphonic black metal maelstrom that harks back to the majesty of the Norwegian black metal scene of the ‘90s.

Seed of Doom getting some of these might work out cheaper for EU/US

2notepockets reacted to mrewest in Best Albums of 2018?
Mine was a top 37 because that’s how many I legit enjoyed (more than half of each album) & gave multiple listens to. I probably listened to 50 total but the others had 1-2 songs max I liked.

2notepockets got a reaction from Rip in Best Albums of 2018?
Yeah I'm the same I listen to music all the time but to be able to fully explore 30+ albums from the same 12 month period is nigh on impossible for me...
I do listen to a lot of extreme metal that has hour plus albums and songs lengths to match which I'm sure is sometimes harder to digest than other genres...
Not trying to have a go at anyone just posing the question

Krallice just dropped a new ep

A bit more death/doom influenced than I am familiar with (admittedly I am multiple albums behind with these guys) digging it.
That intro on the first track

LOL. Wow so much whining about the cover art. Have you guys seen the cover art for their first record?
Or maybe literally every Cannibal Corpse record cover? Or Autopsy record covers? Or Brujeria's cover of a severed head?
It's death metal

2notepockets reacted to lexicondevil in Stoner/ Doom Metal Discussion Thread
Saw Sleep two nights ago and they kicked ass(duh). Was so tempted to buy the tour edition, but $60 was a little too ridiculous, especially since I already have the green version. I was hoping for a mission/tour patch, but no such luck. They had a poster, but I just didn't want to hold it during the show. This was only the second time I've seen them. The last time was I think one of their first reunion shows in SF and this one was better. Looking forward to seeing them again, but I hope to be a bit more stoned.
