Thanks for your input, however your generalizations on motive are incorrect. As a band we decided to make limited covers ALONG w/ different vinyl colors of a release. It was really that simple of a concept. Typically we release anywhere from 3-5 different colors of a record just to do it (always have), with the same cover usually. This was just an alternative way to approach that idea. Ironically, doing so was very expensive (commissioning art from folks and doing small runs of 500 of each double LP with this limited packaging). It actually cost us MUCH more to do this than a traditional record to manufacture.  All of us (including myself) collect records and cherish variants for the same reason bands make music, for the love of it. If maximum profit was the goal, then we are in the wrong game entirely. Thanks again.

Absolutely no way this post is anywhere within the realm of serious.  Being a blatant troll within your first 4 posts is a gutsy move but I will say that I respect the changeup.  You're brand new and already have us on our toes with your implication that this release is less about collaborating with talented artists and giving fans multiple avenues to explore something cool, and more about holding a gun to our heads and intentionally forcing everyone to buy everything.  You know the Converge boys; consistently milking that cash cow and creating irrationally priced products, just to spite their fans.

The Ashley Rose Couture edition is considered the "standard" version if there is such a thing here. That version will be repressed if it needs to be. All the others are a one-time only pressing. Thanks.

I took a nap a couple months ago and woke up to find out Louis CK was going to perform literally next door to my apartment and tickets had already sold out.

We got Ashely Rose Editions! We got shirts! We got prints! 

I'll agree with you on every single point:
- nothing extraordinary regarding pressing quality, but all sound good
- Geisterfaust, pressing-wise, is my favorite
- Sunset Mission my fav overall
- Give us f*ckin' Midnight Radio (+ Gore Motel as a regular press)

I'm unable to grab all 5, and I'm having analysis paralysis trying to decide which to pull the trigger on

Artists interpretations aren't meant to be direct copies. Each person we collaborated with had their own vision. We celebrate that diversity and welcome it. Thanks.

Ugh, patiently waiting for a North American tour to be announced.

Everyone else has echoed my sentiments so let's just understand we're all here for the same reason.  We want to discuss the genre, but within reason.  Put your thoughts out there & then move on.
 
How about this?  "Hey I think you guys should check out this band.  They sound like _____ & _____.  Good stuff."
 
And if someone checks them out & shares their thoughts, great!  If not, move on.  
 
When anything gets oversaturated, it's instant eye roll material.  I worry about mentioning something 2-3 times, let alone THIRTEEN in a matter of a year.
 
Also, we all feel bad about the shit you've gone through but I think we all agree we come here to escape real life bullshit.  I'm sure a lot of people here have gone through some serious shit, but we're here to find common ground on some music.  Using life's shittiness as an excuse to annoy literally everyone kind of sucks.  It's like you're trying to give us a guilt trip.  
 
Just chill out & if that's not how you want to handle things, maybe there's another forum out there more suited for you.  I know if people constantly told me I was annoying as fuck I'd tone it down.  And if my ranting is annoying, let me know & I'll shut the hell up!  But I miss how this thread used to be!

Jesus this thread has really sucked the fun out of discussing all things post-whatever related.
 
Used to love reading the posts in here.  Used to be the one thread that felt more like a tight-knit community as opposed to constant bickering & sarcasm & long-winded bullshit repeated in 16 posts.

I hope they revisit some of the songs on this album live to coincide with this reissue. I'd love to hear The Kidnapper Bell live again. And hopefully finally hear Error #9 live.

When we were talking about good albums from this year I forgot to say that the new Holy Serpent was one I had a lot of fun with.
