Order cancelled and refunded from Redeye.  Said they got a huge amount of orders in a short time and are only able to fulfill like... 5% of them.  So some of you may have scored big time.

Knew this was too good to be true haha.

The consequences seem a bit harsh there. Good thing you didn't post 3 videos.

Odd.  It’s almost as if they’re trying to tell people to actually take in the moment of being at one of their shows instead of watching it through a screen.

Endgame was the best marvel movie, and tied with Logan for best comic movie for me.  I cannot believe how good that was.

I never saw this mentioned before but for those interested, released as a BAM exclusive on RSD... first time on vinyl. Somewhat a companion album to her brothers book ‘house of leaves’

    Found tentative lyrics...

”Dredge the fish in the batter, one piece at a time, and place them in the hot oil. Fry until the fish is golden brown. If necessary, increase the heat to maintain the 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) temperature. Drain well on paper towels.”

To add to that, there are very few sellers or shop-owners that actively participate in the threads they may post, which is something 1234 Go! does every year. Fielding questions, trying their best to provide updates to stock inquiries, etc.  It's why they get their own thread in tandem to the RSD one.  At the end of the day, sure; a sale is a sale  It's a mutual benefit, and the traffic from VC may help to clean up a bit or ensure that there's not too much RSD stock sitting around for ages... but I suspect that it doesn't "make or break" their business.  Realistically speaking, opening up their post-RSD sales to our forum isn't something that has to be done.  The page could be a single text field where you have to enter in the item you're after, click Search, view results, and then hit Back to restart the process.  The checkout process could be buggy and take several attempts.  They could not accept Paypal.  The entire page could be written in Portuguese and require Google Translator to navigate.  But if they're ultimately putting something in your hands that you wouldn't otherwise get, I don't think anyone really has any room to complain or feel entitled.

tl;dr – like Sunshine and others have said, we really appreciate everything you do here at VC, @thischarmingham.  Especially the transparent communication.  I personally did not luck out with your 5 AM sale this year, but I have in the past and it's always a great feeling to obtain something that's eluded you all day.

I just find it unfair when the manchildren on this forum shit on people who are obviously trying their best to make a smooth experience. Both pages were up and clearly labeled long before anyone had to refresh at 5PST and then "navigating" each page consisted of scrolling to the letter of the item you wanted... hilarious. Thanks again for doing this every year!

For everyone looking for a copy of Lost in Translation, our favorite lurker scum is accepting offers on copies here.  I’ve been told that he entertains super realistic offers so don’t hesitate to try your luck with some lowball pitches.

haven't been on VC in awhile. just read this whole thread and had a wave of emotions. IMMENSELY appreciate all the support y'all have given us over the years. there were certainly hiccups in the transition to Awesome Merch. Overall, they're still a very new, small staff here in the US. But they handle our UK and Europe mail order and customer service EXCELLENTLY over in Leeds, so we're confident that we'll get this right together over time once they bring in more staff. We did pull the plug on the sub for 2019, yes, because it became apparent we'd be doing a huge disservice to everyone who purchased it by not having our mail order in tip top shape. We've been a label for thirteen years now, and done our own mail order out of our own space for the first twelve of those. So this is a HUGE change for us. There's some TLC that we and @MyEnemy used to be able to provide—we'd recognize names, start to know what certain people liked, threw in freebies and extras that we knew would be relevant to YOUR tastes, etc. Eventually though, rent costs to warehouse all of our inventory in San Diego just got really outrageous over the course of the few years since we relocated there. We couldn't justify doing it ourselves anymore when weighing the costs. So a few really difficult decisions were made. With this transition, a lot of the more personalized touches are gone—for now. In the meantime, I'm trying to come up with things we can be doing to replace that experience. If you've ordered from us recently, you've hopefully noticed our free swag game is really good right now (and not just throwaway bullshit—like actual free vinyl and pins and stickers, and CDs, etc.)!! Once the staff at Awesome gets more acquainted with our catalog, our customers, how we do things, etc. I think things will smooth out and we'll maybe revisit the sub idea. But all the same, thanks for riding this little experiment out with us to the end.

As a more general update,  outsourcing our mail order (and thus de-anchoring Topshelf to any set physical space), allowed us all to pursue different things in our personal lives. I've since moved to Portland, OR, Seth has moved up to LA, Danielle has moved on to work for Marathon Artists in LA and we've hired two new employees: Sofi Padilla in LA and Will Osiecki in Seattle. The little Boston-based label you remember from years ago is now spread out down the whole west coast lol! Combined with the Awesome Merch thing, this is a HUGE shift for us. With a lot of new blood in the fold, there's a lot of new ideas and energy, but also, a lot for Seth and I to teach and instill before I feel like we are off and running again on all cylinders.

I think it's an exceptionally volatile time to be running an independent label that relies heavily on selling physical media so, again, thank you for any modicum of support you have given us to this point. It's hugely appreciated!!

While there is no sub, I wanted to let you know about some of our upcoming 2019 titles. What I am most excited about is that Topshelf is an extension of Seth and I's music tastes over the years—but also the people who we have worked with as well. Our tastes and interests have evolved just like anyone elses. This year more than any other I think will be reflective of that in what we release. There are no rules!!!!!! Here's some of what you can expect from us:

Bellows - "The Rose Gardener" Elephant Gym - "Underwater" Ratboys - LP3 Queen of Jeans - LP2 Another Michael - LP1 Alfred. - "Like You!!" Field Mouse - LP3 No Vacation - EP Us and Us Only - EP Mid-Air Thief - "Crumbling" and everything else is TBA for now ❤️ If any of y'all ever wanna hit me up about anything directly—a mail order problem or anything, really: kevin at topshelfrecords dot com.

    🙏

90% of the time I picture Derek as Batman (not to be confused with @batman another quality poster). The hero we deserve but do not need (except we do need him, he’s great).

Been getting my ass kicked, haha. I haven't had too much time to really devote to it just yet, I'm only a couple of bosses in (first area or two still).

I'll say, the prosthetics are cool, and I like that there are a decent number of them - but they are nowhere near as cool as the BB weapons, which makes me wish there were a little more RPG elements involved.. using a single Katana the whole game is kind of meh, imo. At the very least they could have done something like the KH route where weapon differences are largely cosmetic and maybe a tiny stat boost here or there for different ones. But boring when there's no drops and 9 out of ten of the items on the ground you try to kill yourself to grab are fucking ceramic shards lol.

I'm also just NOT into the setting or themes at all. Samurai/ninja shit does less than 0 for me. To each his own, I know a lot of people are into that - but the dark graveyard medieval/fantasy feel of Dark Souls or the gothic lovecraftian setting of Bloodborne are so much more interesting to me.

Still - I always enjoy a From game, and will git gud soon enough I am sure.
