I have splatter records that sound better than some black records. The mastering method and quality of the vinyl is much more important than splatter or no splatter. Saying black sounds better than splatter is as elitist as the people who say vinyl sounds better than cds and play them on a crosley. very few of us have a set up to allow us to hear the difference. that being said, GZ records often have surface noise issues, splatter or not. just most splatter records come from GZ and most regular records do not.
how do you figure?

yep, it was only once the vocals kicked in that i could obviously tell.
its just extra annoying since i dont have a speed box so i have to stop the album, take off the platter, adjust the belt, put the platter back on and start playing again. not that it takes long, just annoying.

I haven't made much of a fuss over the matter that I am owed a few bucks from the almighty Virgil (mostly because I know that my debt is an ant hill compared to that of others), however I am feeling pretty pissed right now.
If you have the balls to steal my records and not pay me for them, please avoid selling them on eBay several years later.

The jacket is meant to store the record in. That is not what causes ringwear. Storing the record outside is just a silly newjack trend.

The thought of this makes me cringe, I bet the people who make Vinyl Ashtrays will come up with this idea eventually

I don't mean to be a jerk, but what's wrong with paying $35 for a record that you want?
Time is money, right? You work xxx amount of hours and get compensated yyy amount of dollars. Akin to work, you put in a lot of time and effort into hunting down a certain record at a certain price. This is your valuable time that could better be spent working (making more money) or on other productive activities.
In the end, you lose time and you don't have the record.
Or you could pay $35 (not a lot at all), get something that you want, and save your valuable time.

You would think they wouldn't do such boring colors for these Fat Store pressings.

It could very well be a loose wire on the cartridge. With pair of fine nosed pliers or strong tweezers, unplug each wire and replug it in, one by one.
Test it afterwards, if that doesn't help try opening it up and having a look for any loose wires/broken solder joints.
If you don't feel comfortable doing this, take it to any hifi repair store. It should be a pretty simple fix

I wish I had chosen black boxes for the 7"s. I initially just bought the boxes to move, I didn't imagine they would fit in an expedit. They came in black, white and cardboard and I went with cardboard.

Incessant trolling, continued insulting (sexually or bullying-type), spreading negativism, etc...would be in line with getting warned and then eventually suspended and likely banned.
