  1. You got it. One of the things that drew me to this board was the sense of community. If I can help anyone out here I'm more than happy to. I'll keep you updated.
  2. If the store I went to has the purple like I think they might, I'll ask if they have any more. Will pick an additional one up if that's the case. I only saw one when I went though. I should be back there on Sunday to check.
  3. Any idea when the list will start taking shape? Should we expect some stores to be listed today?
  4. Thanks for the heads up. Curious to see how limited this actually ends up being.
  5. Holy crap, almost everything is gone already. I want that light blue one, hoping those go up soon.
  6. Apologies for reopening an old thread but can anyone tell me about the You Forget It In People purple vinyl? I walked into a store a couple of days ago and the sticker said it was the color version. I popped it open and it looked black so I just assumed that it was mislabeled. For those that own the purple, does it look black unless you're holding it up to light? I thought I had a pretty good look at it but now I'm not so sure. I'm thinking I made a mistake by passing on it and can't get back to that shop for several days.
  7. Got mine today. Really nice press and packaging. Looking forward to spinning this later.
  8. Aziz stopped by Turntable Lab in NYC yesterday and signed a bunch of these. Only available in store.
  9. They crush it every time I've seen them. Definitely a band I wouldn't hesitate to see any time they're in town.
  10. Beat me to it in regards to Dino Jr! I'll also add the Descendents and Nine Inch Nails to the list of artists with strong late showings. Definitely don't agree with the inclusion of Weezer.
  11. I don't understand why they wouldn't fill previous orders they had to cancel first.
  12. Last album was great. I'll probably give this a whirl.
  13. Maybe I'll just bite the bullet and order it anyway since her birthday is coming up.
  14. Hey guys, I'm not very familiar with Lana Del Rey but my wife LOVES her. She just announced a couple of shows at Terminal 5 in NYC (decent sized general admission venue) with a special pre-sale code going to anyone that purchases the album today before midnight. I'm not familiar with her fan base or live shows but it seems like she has a pretty big following. Do you think I should buy the album to get on this pre-sale or do you think I'll be fine getting tickets the traditional method? I'd buy my wife the LP in addition to the tickets but $50 is pretty steep for a standard double LP, although I may do it anyway. What do you guys think?
  15. I jumped on that. I'm excited for whatever comes next, I'll always give him a chance.
  16. Just got an email from afghan whigs, they're back up on the sub pop site.
  17. Damn, just started getting into these guys and they're fucking good. Anyone see them live?
  18. Anyone happen to know if the Power of Failing colors are available anywhere (aside from discogs)? Missed the boat on those...
  19. NIN playing a secret show at Webster hall tonight for all you NYCers. If you bought stuff in the store they sent you a unique code. As of now tickets are still available. So pissed I can't go tonight. Definitely a small venue for them so try and go if you can!
  20. Congrats on the open. I'm going to try to convince by friend to stop off on our way back from the Yankee game today. Otherwise I'll try and stop in soon. Good luck!
  21. I can understand that, but it has nothing to do with whether or not a band should be considered underrated. Perhaps our definitions of underrated are different. While they have certainly received their fair share of acclaim they are not nearly as well regarded as I believe they should be. To me, they're one of the finest bands to come out of the 90s. I understand my opinion is just that, an opinion, but take a look at any top 90s lists and they are either nowhere to be found or ranked laughably low. Obviously these can only be taken with a pinch of salt but they're still tastemakers: Rolling Stone's Top 100 Albums of the 90s - not one Whigs album anywhere to be seen http://www.rollingstone.com/music/lists/100-best-albums-of-the-nineties-20110427 Pitchfork's Top 100 Albums of the 90s - again, not one Whigs album http://pitchfork.com/features/lists-and-guides/5923-top-100-albums-of-the-1990s/ Genetlemen does manage to appear in a couple of SPIN lists but either at the very bottom or stuck somewhere in the middle. Just look at some of the albums on this list! http://www.spin.com/2015/05/the-300-best-albums-of-the-past-30-years-1985-2014/ I'm sorry but this band is criminally underrated.
  22. I don't even know why I'm entertaining this comment but how are they not considered underrated?
