I braved the Chicago line on Saturday. I showed up at around 9AM and the line was already about 6 blocks long. Fortunately I was surrounded by some cool as hell people in line, so we just shot the shit and drank beer the entire time. Apparently at one point a woman started vomiting blood in line and we had to walk through the aftermath of that, which was less than ideal, but the whole thing went surprisingly smooth. The staff and security were on their shit and the whole thing felt completely under control. I'm not saying I'd ever do it again, but it went as well as it possibly could have for me.

I did never, in a million years, expect to be disappointed by an arcade fire record... especially since it's my favourite band and I really liked all four singles.
 
But man, when peter pan came on i thought this is the worst thing these guys have ever written, good news is it probably won't get worse...and then fucking chemistry comes on and i just think what the fuck is this shit... those infinite content songs have a nice chord progression but it does nothing for a hypothetical narrative of the record. Put your money on me is the only song left that is 'okay' i guess, a lot of people praise this song as one of the best they've ever written, don't know about that man...
 
Listened to the record 3 times now and i really really hope it will grow on me...I really want it to...I normally don't form an opinion on a record after only a day but peter pan and chemistry are reason enough to make this their worst record by far, as a huge fan this really hurts

Good lord, been waiting for these for awhile.
 
For anyone popping into this thread randomly, these guys are one of if not THE most underrated bands of all time. I probably wouldn't start with any of these necessarily, maybe Congregation, but Gentlemen and Black Love are perfection. Now all we need is a Blackberry Belle repress and I'll be set.

I didn't find her attractive at all with the long wavy hair, but lately... Dang son. Also, I've never been a fan of hers at all, but I'm obsessed with album right now. Style is absolutely perfect and far and away my favorite song, but I honestly like the whole cd. Not sure if I've ever been able to say that about a pop record before.
