Hey guys, new poster here. I like many of you placed my order right when the link was posted and was updated to "shipped" status the next day. My tracking number doesn't reflect anything other than the label being created. Since Monday I have been offered repeated assurances that my package was just about to ship only to have it not ship. After expressing my frustration the person at customer service "talked to their manager" and told me that they had run out of packing boxes for the box sets and had just gotten new ones in and that my item would ship today. Still no update on the tracking end of things. It seems like the person running customer service is pretty out of the loop and they also don't seem to want to provide anything but one sentence answers. It's hard to say if they are overwhelmed with orders or if there is a much bigger problem that they are trying to bide their time with and cover up. Needless to say I am extremely disappointed that we paid $35 for supposed high quality shipping service and they don't seem to have their act together at all. There is a phone number and I will be calling them tonight.

WHAT IF there are no different variants to collect? Is it still even considered a real band?

OK, in hindsight maybe my comment was a bit rash. My main point is that a collection (be it band/label specific, whatever) is something that takes time, effort and dedication (as well as money) to put together, and OK not everyone wants to collect variants, but I think a couple of 7"s and LPs hardly counts as a collection.

Meh, I think if you're gonna post a picture of a collection it should at least have a few variants, it's hardly a collection if you only have one of everything.

TL;DR

At the end of the day, no one will ever be happy when it comes to this shit or any other fuckin' record that ever comes out.

If Cake never said "limited to 900", these represses wouldn't (or at least shouldn't) be a thing. It's the fact that folks made decisions based on that information (camping in line, overpaying, buying a set they may have been on the fence about due to scarcity), and are seeing it all walked back less than a week later. 
 
It's great that Cake is accommodating their fans, but people are entitled to be annoyed given that this was advertised as a RSD-exclusive, limited production run.

Get over it. The times have changed nothing is really that limited anymore with everyone trying to collect vinyl these days.
The only reason I would be mad is if I waited in line over night for it and now it's this easy to get.

Everyone just wants to feel special.  Especially Cake vinyl collectors.

Sigh...check out this reply to FB post announcing more will be available...

Unreal. Not like you'd actually want the set because of the music, regardless of how many were pressed.

I do not personally care either way, but if they want to keep the RSD crowd happy they could repress on black or different colors.

That's a fair point... I mean if all the stuff that comes out on RSD is going to get repressed then doesn't that take away from part of what makes RSD so special?

Not me. I find that one unlistenable. Such a lazy reactionary response to ppl complaining about Life Won't Wait (which has grown on me over the years). Indestrucitble I can't listen to either. I'd like to hear the album they threw away before Brody signed to WB and ditched him for Mr Queens...but Let the Dominoes Fall I was surprised to enjoy. Even though they cross the border into self-parody quite a bit these days.
 
Now, if it's like Rancid s/t...that is prob my favorite still...

I'll refrain from commenting on your caps lock issue and say that I've seen others comment with the same problem. I'd imagine it's already been brought to the label's attention but another push won't hurt. They're going to have to make it right (or should) so there will probably be a repress or refunds, but I'm not sure how they manage that with secondhand copies. Email or call and ask. But don't yell at them like you did us.

I'm surprised anyone is opening these. Seems like a clear cut collectible release.

You need to set out on a quest to find the person who got two A/Bs. It will be an adventure - you will learn a lot about yourself and the nature of true love.

Sorry, No. 'I could care less' is just wrong. The reason everyone (myself included) gets so irate about this is because everyone uses it when they actually mean the opposite. I've not heard one instance of someone actually using 'I could care less' accurately.

I have a coworker who I love dearly, we watch out for each other, I've watched her house and her dog for her before and we get along famously.. she says 'Hashtag Sorry Not Sorry!' in real world situations and it makes me want to stab my own face.
