Lol at people comparing this to American Football. These two bands couldn't be anymore different, followed completely different trajectories, and reformed for dissimilar reasons. 

Instrumentally this is very impressive. Along the lines of ROC material but definitely cooler. Wasn't blown away by the vocal hooks or lyrics, but I never turned to ATDI for either of those components anyways.

it's the clean vocals that I think help me love it so (have been listening to it non stop since i ordered, probably on my tenth time thru).. I have a hard time with the guttural, rough vocals. But, i will try out the recommendation!  

I suggested this earlier in the thread but try Violet Cold - Desperate Dreams. It has the same major key that Astronoid has. It's a one man euphoric black metal artist from Azerbaijan with keyboards but it does have rough vocals instead of clean ones. His other albums are interesting too. He blends black metal, noise, jazz, ambient, edm and more.

Just listened to this album today. I kind of dig it... may have to pick up the album.

Same clear vinyl and same shirt bundles in the US and UK. I like all their stuff but this album is great. I went with the bundle with the green man shirt.
