  1. Also the first "shows" happening back in NYC are shows with bands like Madball. Not hard to figure out why.
  2. Not a Madball fan since the people I grew up around that are really into them I don't care about anymore. Not surprised at a few things. - Not surprised that a lot of people went since people here are starving for shows. We're really spoiled in NYC with shows, and people have had a hard time living without shows. - Not surprised at the lack of masks. It's been politicized and its no different here. - Not surprised that people treated it like a normal show and didn't social distance. The shows that most of people are used to on this board aren't conducive to social distancing. - Not surprised at the cop worship and a dude that showed up with a "Black Flag Matters" shirt. A bunch of hardcore dudes I know are relatively right wing for various reasons, and the situation here in NYC has hardened some right wing tendencies. My opinion of policing and city politics aside, this take is objective. So I'm disappointed, but not surprised.
  3. For our incredibly fucked healthcare system, the US vaccination rollout is running the way it is because we "pre-ordered" and hoarded a bunch of viles in advance (before most other industrialized nations) and we're making it available to everyone we can ASAP so we could return to "business as usual." I mean its great but its main objective is to stem our economy from hemorrhaging the way it has for an extended period of time. It's a real mixed bag overall, but good for us I guess? Other countries like Canada and the EU has given way more money to its citizens while they "figure it out" while we said here's 1 month's rent make it last a year.
  4. Nice. The other 3 pressings I had sounded flat so I’m excited for this.
  5. Most people I know who got the Moderna shot had their arm hurt like hell for the first one, and had some fever/chills with the second shot. A lot of people I know took the day off after their second dose.
  6. It's on their Bandcamp too for people who are into that sort of thing. https://minusthebear.bandcamp.com/album/planet-of-ice
  7. Just get me Life In General. I learned most of those songs on guitar in high school.
  8. P+P has been doing the same shit since 2009. Except then they actually did do cool packaging but it was always 5 months late along with other things. Glad bands have been pulling their catalogs from them.
  9. Just wanted to take a minute to appreciate an old school like VC thread where its not just about a PO, (specific) repress, or some newjack asking why some horrible record hasn't been pressed/repressed.
  10. Bandcamp Friday https://lungfish.bandcamp.com/album/love-is-love
  11. Grabbed Mute Half splatter, Ruiner Tri-color, and Career Suicide smoke variant. A little bit of everything.
  12. Real story here is this was a missed opportunity to remix/remaster Sixteen. Great record, sounds like ass. Rev got my money anyway.
  13. I still cry that this was pressed. I thought there was zero chance I'd ever own a copy on vinyl. This album turns 20 this year. 20(!!)
  14. One of my favorite EPs of last year was pressed. On either yellow or black vinyl. No pressing info. https://deathwishinc.com/collections/rough-francis/products/rough-francis-urgent-care Rough Francis is a Vermont punk band founded by three brothers; Bobby, Julian and Urian Hackney. They started out as a tribute band to their father and uncle’s Proto-Punk band DEATH before anyone heard their music. Rough Francis was the nick-name of their uncle David who was the songwriter and visionary for the band DEATH. The Hackney family story quickly made its way in the spotlight and immediately blasted into orbit. After a few tribute shows, Rough Francis decided to create their own sound and channel influences from their progenitors and the hardcore scene they grew up in. Urgent Care is the third official release by Rough Francis, it also marks their 10 year anniversary as a band. Urgent Care is a headfirst dive into their deep musical roots steeped in 80’s hardcore, 70’s Proto-Punk and a touch Mowtown. Recorded in 2 days by engineer and Converge guitarist, Kurt Ballou, this record pushed Rough Francis musically, and solidifies their place in the underground scene. Urgent Care, clocking in just over 25 minutes, takes you through the evolution of the band’s career. Lyrically, Bobby touches on experiences of growing up in Vermont as well as social and environmental issues that echo what’s happening today. Track Listing: 01. Teen Zombies 02. Urgent Care 03. Giving Up 04. Waxed Curb 05. Tito’s Revenge 06. Deathwire 07. Crow 08. Microwaving
  15. If it makes you feel better there’s a record I sent to France at the beginning of February that hasn’t arrived there either for whatever reason and I’m also in Brooklyn. It hasn’t toured the US like yours but I’m worried there’s a pattern shipping there right now.
  16. Yeah they've been randomly pressing up some color which they have seen to do from time to time. Not a repress, but strong recommend for Red Hare (Sean Brown from Swiz/Dag Nasty) as their first LP and subsequent 7" are still available on color. https://redhare.bandcamp.com/album/nites-of-midnite https://redhare.bandcamp.com/album/lexicon-mist Also math rock gold known as Faraquet have had a mixed color pressing up for a minute. https://faraquet.bandcamp.com/album/the-view-from-this-tower
  17. Selling some shirts on ebay. Mostly big boy stuff (XXL) but there are some XL and smaller items and even a few women shirts. Check it out! https://www.ebay.com/sch/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from=&_ssn=graded0nacurve&_sop=1
  18. Yeah I've heard horror stories about Florida. I have a bunch of relatives that live there, but I only really consistently talk to my grandfather. Last I spoke with him it was damn near impossible to get a vaccine in that free for all system. I gotta talk to him soon, but it's wild everywhere.
  19. Nice dude. Congrats! I only miss working remotely in order to avoid COVID exposure. Lucky so far on my part. Anyone else here receive/eligible for the vaccine yet? I got my first shot last Tuesday, but initially getting the appointment here in NYC was insane. My assistant principal shared with me a portal for only NYC workers and it was the only way I got a shot. Inside an NYC government building with armed security. Wild times.
  20. Mostly as to why the only original member by 2017. I honestly think Quiet Slang was a pet project and ego stoking.
