  1. In case some of you are unaware of Heather Woods Broderick, she is Peter Broderick's sister, and she plays in Sharon Van Etten's band....She has released one stellar LP called, From the Ground...(check that out, if you like heartbreaking experimental folk) Her second album, 6 years later is a breath of fresh air! Experimental folk at its very best... The Vinyl can be found on Western Vinyl and a cassette (limited to 100) on Beacon Sound I am in process of seeing if the vinyl is indeed already sold out? As it says out of stock via WV? but that seems little odd, but guess it could of sold out on preorder...I ordered one from amazon (fingers crossed) http://westernvinyl.com/shop/wv135 http://www.wearebeaconsound.com/shop/heather-woods-broderick-glider-cassette UK peeps: https://www.normanrecords.com/records/153877-heather-woods-broderick-glider- https://soundcloud.com/western_vinyl/heather-woods-broderick
  2. I may be alone here but after first go through while driving nothing grabbed me at all... Didn't keep my attention and seemed little boring... More listens may change that but overall seems little dull.
  3. Dang is the original press valuable!? I think I just sold it with a bunch of records to local store! For like $6 or something - opps - or if I still have it anyone want it? (Note I'm not 100% i still have it, I know I sold Ode for sure)
  4. Leaked, and GODDAMN is this album flipping great! (I feel like this album is what Active Child's should of been) Had High hopes for Active Child, and had really no expectation for Destroyer... This album after just 1 listen I immediately went and placed my PO! So so so good....
  5. ^ and if you've never owned a Sonic Pieces release you will be amazed at the quality of EVERYTHING! Top notch all around...its worth the $38...for awhile they were like $45-50 direct before they found a better shipping option! But they were still worth it...id say its easily a $50 record, compared to all the overpriced junk out there..
  6. kinda surprised at all the people into him...I ended up doing merch for William Fitzsimmons and He was opening...so we did his as well! He was super nice dude! Gave me a bunch of CDs, but he said sorry I wish I could give you vinyl but it cost to much to make!!!
  7. Dang I really wish you snagged an extra of Curtis...its my fav thing by him!
  8. SO…the Moon Ate The Dark LPs SOLD OUT from Sonic Pieces, I still managed to snag a copy from ANOST, as I didn't have the money and was kinda shocked the Moon LPs stuck around that long before selling out! Majority of there LPs sell out in 24-48 hours with a few exceptions, such as Raulsson Vora (which is amazing so not sure why) but it was up for months and months! Anyway, if your at all toying with ordering MATD LPs do it ASAP…ANOST only gets about 20 or so... Lastly, the JAMES WELBURN - HOLD LP (on Miasmah, Sonic Pieces sister label) is some amazing hardcore ambient (similar to Lawrence English's - Wilderness, Ben Frost, or Tim Heckers - Ravedeath) Some really go heavy noise, which is hard to pull off well...
  9. Yea I ripped this the other day…I feel like the SOL AWVFTS can't write a bad song…lol even all the little side projects are all solid…for those that don't know I will list the various projects surrounding the musicians: Stars of The Lid (several LPs & Eps) A Winged Victory for the Sullen (2 LPs 1EP) (Adam & Dustin O'halloran who has number of amazing piano records!) Brian Mcbride - The Effective Disconnect (there is vinyl pressing) he also has a CD, When The Detail Lost Its Freedom Bell Gardens (Brian & Kenneth James Gibson (2 LPs - this is the furthest from all other sounds, with an Experimental Folk thing going on) The Dead Texan (Adam & Christina Vantouz who's 2 Solo LPs are freaking amazing) Sleepingdog (Adam & Chantal Acda - more folky with lyrics) Aix Em Klemm (Adam & Bobby Donne of Labradford/Anjou) AdamBryanbaumWiltzie (Newest Side Project) Also anyone that needs PINO digitally I got you!
  10. Sonic pieces packaging is the best! http://imageshack.com/a/img661/1706/M5C83V.jpg
  11. Yea this new direction is fucking great! I hope they all sound similar to this....at least the feel, and yea maybe harder too! Getting excited now for this! I thought Teen Dream and Bloom were essentially cut from the same cloth, could of been a double album almost...not that thats a bad thing, they both are perfect albums and some of the best music out their at the time! Anyway, if they release another song, I'm gonna try to hold off listening, never been able to do that! But honestly it can sorta ruin the first spin, when you already know like 2-3 songs very well....
  12. Yes! Gotta keep my Sonic Pieces collection complete! I worked hard to get all the vinyl pieces! They are just so beautifully done...the music and art and everything is ALWAYS TOP QUALITY!
  13. ^ Yes I love Fog Lake, all there stuff just hits me in the right spot! lol...def grabbing!
  14. I just came across this kickstarted too, my first thoughts were similar to all those points made above. Then I thought it is a cool "art piece" to add to a room, and various colored variants would showcase well, but is it more than that? Probably not! Just a turntable that will probably have issues as time goes on, I can't image this is built to last given gravity, the tonearm and built in speakers. Ive found most tables with built in speakers die with in 2-3 years... (so I've read/heard) granted this one should be much higher quality then those crosely jokes and cheap best buy 3-1 players... Would I buy this for $75? YES! but not a penny more, as its just art rather than a serious table...
  15. WOW this, Threading band on this label is fucking fantastic! (also King Woman!) they are becoming a pretty solid label...nice
  16. Yes! Its no Splendor Solis (which is there best IMO) but still a classic! I still listen to Tea Party quite after, hope they reissue all there stuff on vinyl, would be freaking amazing!
  17. I just looked over my 180g black vinyl as I haven't played them yet....Sadly there are 6 spots on almost every side of fairly deep scratches (like busy scribbles) the size of a dime. 4 of them I can feel the indent where as the few others I can't. There is also a heavy scratch for about half of the last song on side C, this one is deep....I am afraid to play it...Ive had stuff like this before and it plays fine but these just seem too overwhelming to not somehow impact the records... Anyway sorry for the rant, but just think I got some real bad luck with this one...its clearly a sloppy pressing plant issue! Ive seen this little scribbles on several of my records the past 5-7 years...
  18. Sadly I was really disappointed with the new album...dont really like it much... I am a huge fan of their first LP, then the second, and the Eps are solid...but This one just didn't do it for me! Heres to hoping next one is better....Sorta wish I didn't PO the deluxe now, but I have all their vinyl (including 7"s) so might as well keep it complete... ps I have an extra copy of their first 7" No Joy - I have both the Domestic and Import (inverted cover art) if anyone is interested in buying it?
  19. I really hope these differ from the originals. I like to be able to tell the difference between a 1st and 2nd press....Dont know what to do as I have both these albums, but one is pretty dang noisy... at $38 I may just hold off, unless they differ drastically in someway... (like different cover art?) Also to comment on the AWVFTS the Kranky pressing was CLEAR! No black copies from them, only black copies that exists are from Erased Tapes
  20. Got my 180g Black today... And the damn mailman ignored my sign that clearly stated put thin packages in door please! It rained ALL day...record got soaked! Everything!! Even the plastic sleeve took a hit where the sleeve got all misshapen due to the water and high heat (humid as fuck out!) - defiantly taking a huge loss on this one... At least the vinyl should be ok once I give it a good cleaning... Sorry for rant
  21. After I wrote it I tried to edit it to say high (not super high, but kept freezing)...then ideal is 30-35 for a triple...but I clearly bought it...just saying that it was on the higher side, considering BRMC just put out a triple LP 180g gatefold with a DVD for 30.99... I also may have been high when writing that lol
  22. dang does $40 seem super high? I guess its 3, and gatefold and colored...$35 would of been ideal...shit I want this but have to be super choosey with what I buy (damn tight budget) - sadly, I'll have to decide quickly as this shouldn't be around long?
  23. damn wish I wasn't broke...hope this stay around, only really want Romantic Works!
