  1. song's got some weird-ass chord changes. it's fine I guess, but it's certainly sub-Red in goodness.
  2. Pretty excited that the Ruiner repress was still available on the site so I was able to snag that with my preorder.
  3. Yeah, I felt reasonably turned off by this record just on account of it being a worship record. I became more interested in it just from the opening of his post: I don't begrudge him that he may want to make music tailored toward his faith, and I especially like that he says that he wanted to make it accessible in some way to people who may not be religious, and that it might even provide a sense of commonality to his earlier work (i.e. Thrice). I honestly wasn't even planning to check this out at all, but now I think I'll at least give it a couple of listens and see what I think.
  4. Dustin wrote a piece describing his thoughts and reasons behind making the record. http://theresurgence.com/2013/09/30/why-i-made-a-worship-recordbody
  5. I can't think of a more fitting colored vinyl choice for any other record in existence.
  6. yeah I was gonna say, I'm pretty sure black was not one of the variants that existed before.
  7. I'd order from Bleep, but their only shipping option is UPS and fuck UPS. Plus, I have enough points on my Amazon CC that I can use them and get the EPs for free.
  8. the Futures demos are pretty good. I'll listen to that every now and then because several of the songs are different enough from the final version to be comeppling for repeat listens. there's obviously a lot of demos out there that are pretty boring, but Jimmy Eat World's (released) demos are generally pretty interesting.
  9. I didn't notice a problem with my RSD reissue copy of either.
  10. I had slacked off on ambient stuff for a few years and then I heard Ravedeath, 1972. It's a truly stunning piece of work. Got me back on an ambient kick which I think I needed.
  11. Last time I checked, most shippers charge a lot for shipping across an ocean.
  12. I've been lamenting the ridiculous price of this since it was announced in like May or whatever. I love this album so much but I just can't justify dropping $60 for it.
  13. are these gone? I had been thinking of buying one and noticed they're not listed on your page anymore.
  14. it's really too bad that's a photoshop.
  15. I'm an unofficial Sabres fan ever since they signed my homeboy Chad Ruhwedel. Lowell hockey forever.
  16. of course this means admitting that you're from New Bedford.
  17. I think mine would be the Chilmark "Mosiac"/"The King"/"Shadow" 7". They were a band from a couple towns over when I was in high school, so this must have come out in... 1993? I had a copy of this and it disappeared freshman year of college when I brought it to the radio station to play on my show and it grew legs when a bunch of non-station people happened to be around. Every time I search for it on the interwebs, all I can find is their other 7", Driftwood. I'm pretty sure both were /500 so it's weird that only the Driftwood 7" seems to pop up on tradelists/distros/whatever and never the Mosiac 7". Anyway, pretty sure I'll never see this again ever. Though if I ever do, it'll probably be cheap because no one has ever heard of this band. If I see the Driftwood 7" show up somewhere it's usually $4 or $5.
  18. as the owner of a 2x2 Expedit upon which my Pro-Ject rests, no. it's not wide enough for two side-by-side regulation-size stereo components.
