This just showed up and it is astounding. Gorgeous physical presentation and - the first side of 'Asleep in the Back', anyways - sounds amazing.
It also looks great on the shelf next to the Blur box. Suede, it's your turn.

I finally got to see them a couple weeks ago, and was expecting a great show but I was absolutely blown away. Definitely in the top 3 bands I've seen live.

Just came. Thing is a brick. Real nice. They put the USB in a record sleeve filled with foam and on the spine they put " record #6 coming soon". Cool of them to leave space to put the next album in there.

Man, I knew ordering an insane price drop from Amazon.ca had the potential to be a clusterfuck, but this is just ridiculous.
Lesson learned: never, ever pre-order from them if it's something I'm actually concerned about getting my hands on.

I personally like Utopia Parkway more than their self title but that is just personal preference. Always liked this band but love the direction they headed with their last album. Did not expect it but honestly if a band was gonna re-invent themselves and keep their signature wit than this was the way to go. Sky Full Of Holes is such a summer album in a different way. I will always miss their quirky power pop rock from their early days but its nice to have multiple sounds by a band. Hope to see them live one day.

S/T is an amazing '90s power-pop record. Absolutely essential.

Superdeluxeedition is reporting a new 2xLP pressing of Pulp's 'His N Hers' out on December 10 in the UK. The main album on the first LP and the bonus tracks from the 2006 Deluxe Edition on the second. Kind of an odd choice as neither the 'Different Class' or 'This Is Hardcore' reissues went that route.
Anyways, it's listed on Amazon.com but as currently unavailable. Amazon.co.uk has it listed for the outrageous price of £33.72. Hopefully it comes down because that's just nonsense.

i seriously seriously seriously wish they had made the cd set the same size box and price as the last 3.
it's driving me nuts what they are doing with it for this release. i love it but i hate the inconsistency and i REALLY hate the price.

A review of the CD set. My favorite bit is the last paragraph:
"With a DVD of period concert footage, a Mellon Collie decoupage set and a lush book of expanded artwork rounding out the set, it's clear that EMI have pushed the boat out for this reissue – and it comes at a price.
