I've seen "lesser" bands/artists and smaller labels splurge on gatefold jackets for single LP's. And it's totally worth it. So no excuse to have a double (or more) LP in a single-disc sleeve. It's dumb and hella frustrating. 

I don't understand how anyone who understands records can look at a double (or more) LP and think "let's just make the sleeve extra wide and shove everything in there. Seems like the best way." I would rather have a gatefold with literally nothing on the inside than a thin cardboard box holding 4 vinyl circles. *heavily eyeballs the Fear deluxe on my shelf*

Man, they're so serious about not re-releasing their music that they won't even re-release this show. That fucking event is somehow a collector's item.

If they do a 20th anniversary tour for STS, I'd be pretty excited. 

I‘m in my early 30s and dreading that reality more and more as time goes on.  Especially with musicians and actors.  Reading a lot of comments on various posts across numerous sites, it’s harrowing to see (and consider) the youth shrug off this loss or ask “…who?”  I keep thinking back to when I was young and my parents would tell me about an actor or musician that had passed, and would have to explain their importance or impact to me because I simply had no idea at that age.  It’s very strange - and admittedly, not very fun - to feel myself slide towards that end of the table as it turns.

Well, well, well.  These guys just rolled in.


Huge shoutout to Red Creek for the amazing packaging job.  First time ordering through them and I’m more than impressed.  All 7 copies are flawless, not a single corner ding across the entire set.  They were stacked inside a thick mailer that sort of folded into 2 more mailers for a triple-layer fort of cardboard.  I have never received an international group buy in such good condition.
All variants are accounted for, too, if the stickers on the shrink are to be believed.
I wasn’t expecting them to show up so soon, and have plans for today / this evening… so I’m sticking to my guns and committing to next weekend to have these all out.  Packaging them up and labeling all your orders over the next few days. 👍

Album continues to get better and better for me.  So many people are snoozing on this record and band right now.
Just letting everyone know that our order touched down into the US yesterday.  FedEx provides an estimate of when it shows up, but it’s also getting flagged for “Operational Delays” and updating its status a bit slow.  For example, I did not realize it was supposed to arrive by this evening.  But now it’s slated for tomorrow night, despite being in Indianapolis and needing to arrive in California.  I’ll believe it when I see it.
Regardless, if you’ve been feeling restless or curious about what’s going on, know that we’re close… assuming the order wasn’t thrashed to oblivion, and contains what we ordered.  Even if they showed up tomorrow evening, I doubt I will have everything labeled and packaged for a Saturday shipment, so you can realistically expect me to provide you each with a tracking number sometime next week, on or before 10/29.  (It really depends on how stacked my afternoon meetings may get throughout the week.)
Just being transparent and keeping everyone in the know.  Thanks for your patience.

My test press copy came in yesterday. I’ve only had a chance to listen to the first side because I have family in town visiting this week, but I liked it a lot. 

I splurged and ordered the test press yesterday morning. It says it’s supposed to ship soon, so I’m excited to hear it early. 

You know how I said I feel like people did not read Topshelf's entire statement... Well... I don't want to call you out but they're literally dealing with their own problems and they have funds set aside for an emergency because they have successfully been around that long. You might want to tone down your ignorance and take the time to read the links before commenting because you missed the mark with everything you've said.

They literally cannot make money for the foreseeable future. They have a staff and royalties to pay. The way they make money is currently locked up from them and it's of no fault of their own. Kevin says in the post they were going to drive out and move their shit, but were told they can't get their shit. One month of zero income for small businesses is enough to press the panic button and start laying people off.  This is a totally appropriate time to ask for help. 
Labels and bands have Kickstarted at way way less deserving times than TSR right now. It's really fucking weird to see someone questioning the morality of this.

Gutted. Hopefully Scott’s family finds healing. Really feel for Steve and crew. What a complete gut punch to them and their life’s work but they made the right statement that this about the family above all else.

So, the difference between the “kinetic” version from the cloudshill store and the regular version is the gold foil cover? 
 
I’m also not crazy about the newest song. The first two singles were decent, but so far the new album hasn’t been quite what I was hoping for. Oh well.

Cool catch on that variant.  I feel like DW will get a US exclusive and it’ll still be $30 PPD and probably pretty decent.  I’m pleased with the options we have to choose from at present though, and am confident I’d be content with my choice.

I’m right there with you. Box sets? Check. Individual albums? Check. Still a desire for a complete catalog box set cause I’m weak and love Unwound?  Check. 

We're so close to finally having a full colored set for the main albums, too.  Just need the S/T, TFOW, and – my most anticipated – NPI.  Having the boxes on top of colored LPs is more than enough to be content, but I still don't trust myself if a full discography box ever surfaced.  You'd have to squeeze blood from the stone to find some extra content that isn't already on those box series – maybe some unreleased songs that still haven't seen the light of day? – but if the presentation was tops, I'd probably be inclined to go in for it.  Maybe.  I'm way happy with all the options we have thus far though.
