  1. I read all of the books a few years ago and really enjoyed them. We read the first chapter in high school while trying to decide on a book to read as a class and I was like pfft, this blows. Then one time when I was a cashier a girl left HP1 behind and I decided to read it because I was bored and the store was slow. It took a few years for me to get 2, but once I did I read the rest in a two months span. I finished Half-Blood Prince right when Deathly Hallows came out, so that was great timing.
  2. I haven't seen much around the city yet, but here is a picture of the Gotham Police cars that my friend took: Also, the working title for the film is: "Magnus Rex" Perhaps minor spoiler from the types of people they're casting... They're looking for football players. I think they may be using Heinz Field. end.
  3. I received my Google Music invite last night and I'm really excited to use it! Anyone else using it yet? I'm very impressed with it so far. It's very simple and smooth. My only major complaint is that it takes a long time to upload music. Only 1,800 songs so far and I started at 5pm on Thursday. I'm importing straight from iTunes and my playlists, playcounts, and ratings (thumbs up or down) have all been transferred as well. The interface is really nice. It's clean and very fast, unlike a lot of desktop music players. I'm testing in Chrome btw. Another thing I don't like is that it seems to be uploading some low res artwork even though I have high quality artwork on almost everything in my iTunes library. I haven't used Amazon's Cloud yet, but I've heard good things about that. I'm also pretty excited about iTunes Match because it will mirror my library, which would take away from all this tedious uploading. I hope Comcast doesn't come knocking down my door because of all my data transferring! If you use Last.FM and want to Scrobble your Google Music plays check out this script: http://www.danielslaughter.com/projects/google-music-with-lastfm/
  4. This thread is pretty entertaining when you read it backwards.
  5. I just realized that the actor playing Theon Greyjoy on the Game of Thrones is Lily Allen’s younger brother Alfie.
  6. I started reading the books two nights ago and I'm glad they're short chapters like you said. 1,000 pages is a bit intimidating, but I'm trying to do a chapter or two before bed each night. My first eBook experience too.
  7. I would love to go for a day to people watch.
  8. Apparently we did the same thing, haha and I agree.
  9. I liked this a lot, it wasn't amazing, but it was pretty solid. The actor that played Magneto stole the show, he was amazing. So was Professor X, those two really made the movie.
  10. I'll be there, 2nd time, should be great!
  11. Same boat. I just finished Season 3 last month, can't wait!
  12. Apps: Sportacular (I like this better than ESPN, not sure if there's something better) Simplenote The Weather Channel - default weather app blows Plants vs. Zombies Peggle Words with Friends IMDb iheartradio (you'll love this when you want to listen to Pen's games but have no radio) Soundhound I Am T-Pain Netflix IMDB Yelp Groupon Photosynth (make panoramas) Flight Control Flood-It 2 Infinity Blade Battleheart Baseball '11 NBA Jam MLB at Bat if you want to spend the money, you can listen to all your Brewers games.
  13. Judging by the release of the White iPhone I would assume that it would have to be around mid to late August? The rumor is September. Perhaps Steve will tease us w/ something at WWDC next Tuesday, the 6th. I doubt it thought. iOS 5 will be announced along w/ this iCloud thing.
  14. I'll see this eventually, but I really don't care. It seems like such a cash grab. I'm really excited for the new X-Men movie now that it's been getting rave reviews. The trailers were AWFUL.
  15. They're playing w/ Matt & Kim in Pittsburgh so I'll probably go.
  16. The Freak Show Enhanced CD was the greatest and worst thing I've ever put in my computer.
  17. I was searching for comic related stuff and there's a decent two part series where Kevin Smith interviews Stan Lee. Just search for Stan Lee and it'll pop up. I think I heard that the X-Men Animated Series is coming soon, regardless, you can stream all of those for free on the Marvel site.
  18. Entourage is a pretty douchey show in general, but the last 2 seasons have been meh. Season 2 of Flight of the Concords was lame. How I Met Your Mother was solid from seasons 1-4, 5 wasn't that great, but 6 has picked up a big again. I'm losing interest though, end this show. The Office has been in steady decline since Season 3, w/ a few ups here and there. Parks and Recreations first season wasn't that good, but it hit its stride in Season 2. The last season of Californication was kind of iffy. I couldn't get through the 2nd season of Veronica Mars, but the first season is GREAT. Solid shows all around: 30 Rock, Arrested Development, Community, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Extras, Freaks and Geeks, It's Always Sunny, Lost, Louie, Mad Men, Men of a Certain Age, Modern Family, Nurse Jackie, IT Crowd, The Ricky Gervais Show, Boardwalk Empire, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Portlandia, The Walking Dead
  19. "Freaks and Geeks" = song of the year so far. I like Culdesac better than the EP. Make sure you track down a few of the random single tracks too -- Break (AOTL), Untouchable, Longest Text Message Ever, there are more...
  20. I just saw this tour in DC on Sunday. Great stuff! His stand up is funnier than I thought it would be. Gambino was amazing too.
