  1. Our store held a silent auction for the one copy, with proceeds going to the Men's Homeless Shelter. Second bid was $300.... AND... That was pretty much the end there.
  2. I could be wrong but the Mad Season isn't exclusive to the best of my knowledge... They're gonna keep pressing copies for indie stores and eventually it'll be picked up by everyone else. BM and WS are both pretty rare tho.
  3. The store in Charlotte (Lunchbox) got ONE copy. It was the only thing I really missed. (By comparison, there was still good stock on White Stripes, Black Keys 7", Titus A, Mumford, Phish, Flaming Lips, etc.) I know the owner and he said he asked around, and no store apparently got more than 2 copies. Why they limited it to 1000 copies is beyond me. Try this link. I don't think this is exactly the RSD version but the price is better than eBay and supposedly the quality is great: http://www.elusivedisc.com/SIGUR-ROS-AGAETIS-BYRJUN-2LP/productinfo/FCLP69911/
  4. Apparently it's easier for Mr. Gallo to just close every listing of this (like mine) instead of actually pressing his own. Funny how eBay will "do the right thing" and end the auction.... but still keep their cut of the non-"sale." Assholes. I'm selling it on Amazon now. No hassle and the CHEAPEST listing on there is $300. Make me an offer and I'll gladly sell for less.
  5. Yeah, that's how you can tell it's a bootleg. Pretty sure Vincent would NOT have approved that as the official cover. And on a side note, Gallo could've easily made this edition redundant by pressing his own official version of the soundtrack. Instead, this is the only vinyl version out there period.
  6. Ah, I was hoping someone was selling the entire Biffy "Only Revolutions" LP. I'll never understand how they press so many 7-inches but the new one (Opposites) is the only full-length to be actually available in a non-crazy-expensive box set. Sounds great BTW. Plus with ALL the songs.
  7. Just saw this... PM'ing you. Awesome soundtrack, thanks for doing this!
  8. I was gonna entertain offers but I really need the funds. Just upgraded the system and my credit card is HURTING. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190824582043 FYI, aside from the fact that the center hole was too small (seriously!), this is one clean piece. Not sure the previous owner ever played it. I've heard rumors that Vincent Gallo himself gets these pulled off eBay so who knows... I might be entertaining offers after all if/when that happens. The Frusciante tracks sounded great to me, "bootleg" or not... although I've never heard the CD so I can't really compare to anything.
  9. In fairness, when I was his age I was listening to CDs through a P.O.S. boombox. Also, if I'd been buying everything on vinyl back THEN.... I could pay off my house NOW. As is, the handful of items I did grab go for a pretty penny still. (Early Pearl Jam Christmas singles, all the Whiskeytown 7-inches, original Jar Of Flies, Dylan's Time Out Of Mind...) When I perfect that time machine, gonna go back to the late 90's and buy lots of copies of that Dave Matthews vinyl we couldn't give away in the day... that now goes for $250. Also, Apple stock.
  10. If Teenage Eric didn't exist, this board would have to invent him.
  11. Gerard Way bought all available copies, then melted them down to make a Bert McCracken effigy. Which he burned.
  12. #192. Box looks really really amazing. The mislabels are annoying but might turn out to give this set some additional rarity, assuming AiR steps up like it sounds they will. I haven't tried cleaning off the residue on the covers. It was most prominent on Chords, slight on Facts and Transatlanticism and Airplanes, and nothing on the others. Anyone else notice that the jackets are a bit "tight" for the records? I love the die-cut sleeves for Airplanes & Facts, plus the four separate inserts for Photo Album, but with the heavier vinyl those inserts are a BITCH to put back inside the jackets. Compare that to Trans, which has a thicker jacket as the only 2XLP... and the booklet and records slide in & out with no issues. Yeah, for $250 this thing should've been perfect... But considering you can't get the middle 3 (of 7) for less than that price secondhand, it's still a bargain. Especially once AiR sends out replacement records. And did I mention the box looks AMAZING??
  13. I love Daft Punk, but if there's no limited edition for PO I'll wait for the price to come down. Just my humble opinion, but the only way I justify this kind of price is for a crazy limited package (like the recent Strokes or Atoms For Peace).
  14. Nah, I think the $14 PPD seems more reasonable. Heck, SRC lists their variant for $24.99. Yours isn't as rare, but I'll still buy it for the SRC retail price... Even throw in the $4.99 for shipping!
  15. People need to get punched for not mentioning Radiohead's "Street Spirit (Fade Out)" before now. (Unless someone already did. In which case... Carry on.)
  16. To any/everyone posting on this thread about the evils of selling your records for profit: I would LOVE to buy one of those Brand New TDAGARIM variants from you.
  17. As a (semi-) reasonable buyer, early bids allow me to realize when something is out of my price range. For example: a '65 mono pressing of A Love Supreme by John Coltrane (AKA One Of The Greatest Albums Of All Time). I was planning to bid on it when the price was at $15 with 5 days left... or even $35 with 2 days left. Today, it's $105.50. I will NOT be doing the last-minute bid on this one....
  18. Oh I'm sure there's something... Just not sure if it's worth 163 "somethings" to find out....
  19. Last post wasn't clear, but this was like early 2000s. A time when foolish stupid broke me saw the sealed vinyl copy of Deloused and went, "$40 for THAT? Overpriced!!!"
  20. Only original RH press I own is The Bends... A friend picked it up for me when he was overseas. In hindsight I shoulda had him get OK Computer as well. That said... Not much difference with the reissues. And I don't think my original press goes for more than $30. Nowhere near $75. (Actually I also own the "Newspaper Edition" of KOL. Nice 10" clear vinyl... Well worth it. Kudos to whoever found a sealed version for $40.)
  21. Huh. I didn't even have a clue the PT albums came out on wax. Shows what I know. And not to be a naysayer... But the way Steven Wilson records his albums (mainly digital) and releases them on CD (with bonus surround mixes).... I can't see the vinyl of, say, Stupid Dream sounding much better than the DVD audio 5.1 mix.
  22. Got pit tickets to Raleigh this morning AND the Loser Edition a week or so back.... Very happy Postal Service fan today.
