ahigby
Yeah so I was pumped to get my HBSB today, but it's 100% unlistenable. Sounds completely distorted and static-laden. It even cuts in & out repeatedly. Yikes. Maybe I got a defective? I've been super busy with the holidays, so I've been meaning to write In The Clouds, but I figured I'd check here first. I got the HBSB as well and while it looks cool, it is essentially unlistenable. The A-side doesn't sound good but I made it through, but the B-side was impossible. The music sounds muffled and the sound keeps cutting in and out. I have another lathe cut (the Plow United 7" from a couple of years ago) and while it has a little more static than a normal record, the sound is still pretty good. I'm going to write the label now to see what they say.
stl_ben
Anyone that says theirs is "unlistenable"... Let me know I'm still looking for some of these!
Buffbloom
I really hope Squid The Whale gets a proper release.
troymess
My Hidden Hospitals lathe is also unbearable to listen to. Nothing but distortion on both sides. I appreciate the novelty and work put into this release, and it's very collectable, but I'm also writing the label to see if I can get a better cut of the record. gmoney
A lot of these will vary A LOT depending on your set up and player settings. Lathes are essentially collector items that might sound like muffled streams.
gmoney
I have a HBSB and NGHBRS to sell at cost or trade due to people getting copies that I bought for. Would rather trade I think but hit me up if you're interested. I am on vacation technically until tomorrow so give me a day to go through and respond if I get several people interested. Youinreverse
My NOMADS lathe sounds great and I didn't need to fiddle with any settings on my turntable.

deer
If any of either my NGHBRS (/8), The Black And The White (/9), or TREOS (/12) records don't play well on my cheap AT-LP60 turntable I'll probably sell them somehow on here. I hope they play alright though, because I really like the bands.

kforkevin777
My Squid the Whale sounds fine, especially for a lathe. I'm super stoked on it. If anyone else has a HBSB they don't want, hit me up.
janer05
I haven't had a chance to listen to either of mine (Keyes and HBSB), but I'm curious as to how they sound now. I'll have to try to spin them tonight... but they're the only lathes I own so I don't really have a frame of reference.
RadDonut
Pretty unhappy with how these turned out...I know they're lathes but my other lathes from ITC are freakin' awesome and the two I got (HBSB/TREOS) are pretty unlisteanable. I want to keep the TREOS just to have it in my collection but if someone is looking to have the HBSB for their collection I'd be down for a trade. Kyte30351
Still lookin' fer a copy of HBSB if there's one out there.
The Vool
All these reviews don't make me look forward to my package... Still waiting on mine to arrive; probably sitting at customs once again! What really bothers me is that even though Lauryn was kind enough to give me her spot for the Stepfriends 12" Lathe Cut (some time in November!), none of my/her mails were answered...now, the recording of the personalized message from the band is probably over and I'll end up without one ........
