ratbrain
Yeah, dying to get that 12". The bonus 7" from the last record had the best song of the whole album ("Steal Smoked Fish"). imaxcowboyx
Moglog
For some reason, I didn't think the Mountain Goats were "crash Merge's server" big. Guess that explains why I need to go to the House of Blues (barf) to see them this tour.

chrisapple
Was able to snag one now that the site is back up. That was painful this afternoon trying to get my order in.
funsaimandignite
Is there a cheaper way to buy the deluxe record for europeans (germans)? Burkazoid
radiatorhums
I don't know if I just wasn't paying attention or what, but this came completely out of no where for me. Pretty happy for this though.

ksuwdboots
Merge is sold out of the deluxe edition, but copies will be available in stores.
kas1985
Damn. Don't mind buying from a local, but mine always charges more than retail. Will wait to see how much before purchasing.
endlessslog
What do you mean "more that retail"?
kas1985
What do you mean "more that retail"? For example, Merge usually charges full retail ($18.98 for most of their LPs) and offers free shipping. A pretty good deal in my opinion. My local might charge $21-25 for the same record. I don't mind shopping local, and agree with the general movement. But at some point, it starts to feel like gouging.
endlessslog
Isn't retail whatever the store decides to price something? How did you come up with 19 dollars as a universal retail price for this?
ratbrain
Isn't retail whatever the store decides to price something? How did you come up with 19 dollars as a universal retail price for this? When labels/distributors solicit releases to stores, there's a list price or manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) intended to keep the pricing standardized among retailers. thievedrelic
endlessslog
Oh, he meant suggested retail price
kas1985
Right, MSRP. Sorry about the confusion on that point.
SweetJerryWine
I love supporting local, but sometimes the local shops make it really hard to even want to. I'm in Canada, and even including shipping from the artist I can usually get a record for cheaper than my local record store charges, it really gives me no reason to want to support them. I understand that they have lots of costs and taxes to pay and need to make money, but when you're selling normal Bright Eyes records for $30, something is wrong. Not to mention, there's only one worker there who isn't a dick. I want this album, but unfortunately chances are I will be buying it through Amazon. You probably have less options in NS of where you can record shop. I was out that way in the summer and couldn't find many shops, but the ones i did were overpriced. There was one in PEI that was absolutely Crazy! There are a couple around me that are ok, not too pricey, but there are also a couple that are ridiculous price-wise. Good thing about amazon is direct to your door shipping. And i got Digital Ash yesterday for like $12 on amazon.ca
