itsgoodtobefree
Official announcement will be revealed in a couple days (their site has a countdown), but I guess someone put the preorder up a little too early. http://www.musicdirect.com/p-353271-deerhunter-fading-frontier-vinyl-lp.aspx Out October 16. Guest
Sweet deal. I sold all of my Deerhunter records recently and regret it.
sinatra.45
B Cox can do no wrong Bradford is awesome but for me the not-so-secret sauce in Deerhunter is Lockett Pundt. davepriz and tetsuodaironman
Eliminator Jr.
I love everything this band has done. Ready for this!
Eliminator Jr.
Bradford is awesome but for me the not-so-secret sauce in Deerhunter is Lockett Pundt. I 2nd that. All his Deerhunter-stuff is among their best songs for me and Lotus Plaza is all wonderful on it's own.
bwintroub
I 2nd that. All his Deerhunter-stuff is among their best songs for me and Lotus Plaza is all wonderful on it's own. I third that. Love everything they do together and if you haven't yet check out both Lotus Plaza albums.
davepriz
Last record didn't connect with me like the others but I still have high hopes for this

OldKentuckyShark
Curious if there's any variants. Me too. But there wasn't for Monomania. I doubt there will be for this one

paralyticstalks
This feels like the perfect blend of Halcyon Digest and Monomania.
spoon
I hope there are more than a few sections like the outro to Snakeskin, seems possible with the news post listing James Cargill of Broadcast contributing synthesizers and tapes to the track "Take Care". It also mentions that all songs were written by Bradford besides "Ad Astra" (Pundt), but the two share lead vocals on "Breaker" so fingers crossed that means there is room for more Lockett throughout the LP. Here's the full blurb, seems to have a little more info than the shop link: http://4ad.com/news/17/8/2015/fadingfrontierthenewalbumbydeerhunter

kidamnesiac
Brad and co. always make me happy. As prolific as the frontman is, I totally agree that the best work he does is with Lockett. That being said, I'm totally a fan of all Deerhunter, Atlas Sound, and Lotus Plaza output. Very excited for this album. Single sounds good. mellowtooth
Yeah, the album is superb. Wasn't feeling it all that much the first listen, but it's grown on me tremendously. Very different approach than their other records. Duplex Planet is fucking blissful. Not sure if this has already been mentioned, but it looks like pre ordering from 4AD gets you a poster designed by Cox. I emailed to see if there was any deluxe edition or if the posters would be packaged in the standard release - they said they "think" the poster is 4AD preorders only, but there's definitely no deluxe or limited release.
