ekorz
I'm surprised a Canadian board member hasn't posted this, but here goes. Matthew Good Band (MGB) went under the US radar nearly entirely, though they were very well known up north. So if you're ouside Canada they would be considered a "hidden gem" I suppose. Matt Good is issuing 5 records that were never released on vinyl, and it's just fantastic to finally have them available for purchase. One LP is from Matt Good's solo career, 3 LPs are from MGB, and the last one is an EP from the MGB years. http://www.matthewgood.org/news/2015/12/7/five-remastered-records-to-be-released-on-vinyl Release Jan 15, 2016. If you've never heard of this band, but like alt-rock, do yourself a favor and youtube some clips. Accessible radio-friendly entries are Hello Time Bomb, Anti-Pop, or Load Me Up, but worth checking out Prime Time Deliverance or Avalanche for his slower side. He's got 20+ years of music so the well is very very deep. Any of my friends who've picked him up have pretty much bought up everything he's written. bynovember
OMG!!! Thank you for posting this! I'm from the U.S. and I've been listening to MG/MGB since the music video for Hello Time Bomb came out. I saw him once in Montreal but he never plays in the U.S. I've always considered Beautiful Midnight to be one of the greatest (and most underappreciated) rock albums of the 90s. Without your post I totally wouldn't have known it's getting released on vinyl next month; just preordered it!

Canuckle
Need an Avalanche repress badly. I know it's his solo work, but still slightly related. The only ones to sell on Discogs have gone for way above what I'd be willing to pay. Avalanche is also the one I'm waiting on. I've seen used copies for +$100 but that's a little too rich for my blood for a non-essential album in my collection. I'll grab beautiful midnight and underdogs if I find them for a decent price. Much Music made sure I know at least 3 singles off each...

Subdomestic
It only took two years, but a bunch more records from the MG/MGB catalogue are being pressed. Per Matt's Instagram, in spring 2018 we will see Lo-Fi B-Sides/Loser Anthems, Audio of Being, and repress of Avalanche. TheComebackKid
I'm still waiting for Beautiful Midnight and Underdogs to drop in price. $48+tax for a 2LP is way too expensive...
Canuckle
AVALANCHE!!!!!! That is all... Still holding off on BM and Under in the hopes they pop up for under $30 but I'm not sure they ever will.
voltagedrop
Doubt they'll go under $30 any time soon. He was selling autographed copies of the I Miss New Wave EP for that much on tour last year.
Subdomestic
Still no official word from Matt's site, but these popped up on Amazon.ca with an April 6 release date. Not sure if that means they won't be available for the first dates of the tour with OLP. The Audio of Being 2LP https://www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B079ZQZPQX/ref=mp_s_a_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1519529956&sr=8-11 Avalanche 2LP https://www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B079ZRT9MH/ref=tmm_vnl_title_0?ie=UTF8&qid=1519529956&sr=8-4 Loser Anthems/Lo-Fi B-Sides https://www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B079ZSK2HB/ref=mp_s_a_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1519529956&sr=8-12&pi=CB192566110_AA75_QL70 All priced at about $40 CAD right now. untiliwakeup

Canuckle
Yikes, $40 CAD from Canada is a bit much. Still holding out hope these get bundled or come down in price but I don't think they will. Will see how much they are at indie shops around TO.
fondfarewell
The new pressings of Matthew Good's Avalanche (black and white vinyl options), The Audio of Being and Lo-Fi B-Sides/Loser Anthems are now up in his store and on MusicVaultz (Universal Music's official shop). Free shipping from MusicVaultz over $50, but they don't seem to have the white vinyl version of Avalanche. And Matthew Good's webstore is currently sold out of The Audio of Being. https://matthewgood.store-08.com/ https://shop.musicvaultz.com/search.html?term=Matthew+Good (use code VAULTZ or WELCOME for 15% off) Edited April 11, 2018 by fondfarewell Subdomestic

Great for shipping speed but they were sent in what is essentially a pizza box and wrapped in brown paper. Luckily they weren't shipped over a long distance so they're in good shape. If someone is ordering from outside of Ontario I would maybe be concerned. Just a heads up. Also, why oh why is AoB not a gatefold? Such a wasted opportunity for the great artwork on this album.
